I don't know how I feel about Hickey potentially lacing them up tonight. Sure, Aho has been a disaster, but there's at least the potential that he's shaking off the rust after not playing for so long (despite the fact that he never looked that good in the first place). Younger players at least give you the hope of fulfilling potential. But Hickey was done 2 years ago at age 30. Can he possibly have gotten back to NHL caliber being 2 years older and suffering the injuries he has? I guess we're about to find out.

I know Dobson will be back sooner rather than later, but they really need to bring in a stronger player for the #7 slot. They're one significant blueline injury away from being donezo.

Going tonight, for possibly the final time for an Islander game. Lots of memories, some really great, some pretty depressing. It will be odd to know have the concourse jammed or a 1/4 mile line for the bathroom.

Hopefully these guys bring the energy, convert on chances and don't look dismal on the PP. Just win baby !!

If Hickey happens to play solid tonight, take the money and run, it's a gift. But nobody should get hooked on the idea that he should remain our 7D. As you said he was done 2 years ago. I can't believe that his skating is going improve now that he's 32 years old.

I can't believe how many people are getting the feels for Thomas Hickey! Jeez. I like the guy personally, respect his grit and willingness to answer the bell, but he stinks as a defenseman. Lost his job here 2 years ago and rightfully so.
You forget this is a group of posters who after Kieffer Bellows has two good games we no longer need to trade for a first line winger and we should protect him in the expansion draft. Again, not sure why anything would surprise you on this board.

Same people who thought Steve Webb was a god.

I have no doubt that Hickey will be in. After the Aho debacle, it has to happen.

Hickey stinks. At least Bellows might be OK. But as our 1st line answer? LOL.

I hope we see Hutton instead of Hickey. I thought the days of the Mouse were over.
If I want a lousy defenseman I'd rather have Aho in the lineup. Pretty sure he'll outscore his mistakes.
