It goes by how we're playing as well.

Moneypuck has us 3rd in Power Rankings... yeah, I dont know.. so we're anticipated to win a lot of our games

That would make more sense.

Dom Luszczyszyn at the Athletic always posts stuff based on his advanced stats model, and he actually has us being better the rest of the way than we have been so far.

Rangers

First half schedule strength: 0.510 (22nd)
Second half schedule strength: 0.494 (13th)

You may not realize this, but the Rangers’ goal differential this season is two less than the Capitals and one more than the Bruins. Granted, that’s buoyed plenty by a 9-0 victory, but teams can’t control how and when the goals come, and it was a bit unlucky for New York they all came at once. Sequencing has a huge effect on the standings, as many focus on wins and losses even though goal differential tells a more accurate story. Having the league’s third-worst record in one-goal games is really hurting the Rangers who look more like an above-average team than a below-average one. Their collection of strong shooters to go along with elite goaltending deserve a much better fate than their current pace. Igor Shesterkin should be back soon and Mika Zibanejad is beginning to heat up. It likely won’t be enough to make the playoffs, but a strong second half seems very likely for the Rangers.

after being embarrassed by us at our last meeting, their coach coming out and even saying it in the presser, I'm expecting a very different Flyers team. I hope my expectations are neither met, or exceeded. lol

The Flyers will be jacked to get us back. Stay patient, let them go to the box and capitalize. Then they will chase the game and we will have odd man rush after odd man rush.

Gotta score on the PP because we know the Flyers will get their opportunities . It is a MUST win...there is no excuse for a loss . I honestly don't care how much ice time Laf gets tonight...we need the win .

You know I was thinking about that 9-0 yesterday but then I realized if it was 6-0 that wouldn't look that bad. What if we beat the Flyers 6-0 and the Sabres 6-2 that one game we beat them 3-2. It would be the same +/- but instead of having an outlier type blowout against the Flyers there would be two smaller but more common blowouts of the same Flyers and the worst team in the league. It's just one game.

Yes, as a Rangers fan we all should know its best to go in excepting disappointment and be happy when the outcome is good. Only you have to remember not to let the win impede on expecting the worse from them. That goes for todays game and playoff chances. Just the Rangers things...

The Rangers also have losses of 4-0 (Islanders), 5-2 (Devils), 4-1 (Boston), 5-1 (Pittsburgh) and 4-0 (Boston). It all averages out.

Both teams should be ready for this crucial game. However, we’ve been playing well. If the Rangers lose this game, then it will epitomize their death knell: the utter lack of consistency.

If they win, it will also demonstrate their inconsistencies.

Remember those memes at the beginning of the season about the 4 point intra divisional games being more important (if they're all 'more important' then nothing is really more important)?

HF didn't disappoint lol

I fully expect 'must win' to be thrown about shortly as well
