Going over your question: Together on the same team they are better.
Individually they are not.

277 NHL pts vs. 215, and both are better defensively.
That is 2 players against 1.
Marner and Nylander are better than Drai defensively?

Willy lead the league in Neutral zone takeaways and is a +20, Mitch was -1, Leon was -7
Now I know people don't take +/- as a good indicator, but nobody has told me what is.
So how is Leon better defensively?

Good to know that William Karlsson, Reilly Smith, and Jonathan Marchessault are all head and shoulders better defensively than everyone on the Leafs. Great point man.

 Have a good night, you're a treat to discuss the game with.

Thank you as well, for not providing a defensive metric

Lmao that's quite the dream you must've had to believe such a ridiculous thing.
Guy who doesn’t score or assist as much and is pretty likely to leave his team short handed isn’t better than the guy who’s dramatically more skilled in virtually every aspect of the game.

Tkachuk makes it close with intangibles, but if you’re building a team from scratch, you go with Nylander over Matty. Tkachuk is more of a finishing piece, not a cornerstone.

Matthew Tkachuk > William Nylander, how on earth is that up for debate?

Its not quite right in the comparison.
Giroux has produced more, but Patrice is great defensively.
Matt doesn't have either of these over Willy.

Matt has played most of his career shutting down players and still puts up elite metrics. Matt is definitely better defensively than Billiam.

I always look at the numbers

He's been better.

Tell me how?

It appears to me that you're arguing with yourself...which leads me to believe I'm being spared from someone really annoying
