Sabres juggle lines with Reinhart and Okposo missing practice

Hall - Eichel - Mittelstadt
Olofsson - Staal - Cozens
Rieder - Eakin - Thompson
Skinner - Lazar - Sheahan

McCabe - Ristolainen
Miller - Jokiharju
Dahlin - Montour

Rino is questionable, but he was at the morning skate. Expect him to play instead of Mitts.

Okposo didn't make the trip.

Tonight's game is nationally televised.
Fast facts:
Jack Eichel is one goal from tying Jochen Hecht for the 19th-most goals in franchise history (138).
Rasmus Dahlin leads all Sabres with 22:56 of ice time per game in 2020-21.

Flyers
Flyers off to their most prolific start in 38 years — but can they be better?

Giroux - Hayes - Farabee
van Riemsdyk - Patrick - Voracek
Lindblom - Frost- Konecny
Raffl - Laughton - Aube-Kubel
Provorov - Braun
Sanheim - Myers
Hagg - Gustafsson

Flyers looked really good in their first two games. Gonna be tough for the Sabres to get their first win in the next two games.
I've watched every team so far in our division play and they all play strong games. If they can do what they did to Washington in the second game against Philly, they have a chance.

If not they won't win a single game.

You have no idea just how sad I am knowing that the excuse for yet another season of abject failure is already being pushed. When do the excuses stop and the winning start?

The Sabres are pumped after watching the Bills wins.

In their two wins over the Penguins last week, the Flyers were outshot 67-47 and Carter Hart made 62 saves.
They have something the Sabres don't.

That's a bit dramatic.

We outplayed Washington by a lot in game 2 and got no bounces. The idea that the Sabres have to dominate at even strength in order to "maybe " win a game is such an overreaction to the scoreboard and not the game itself.

This will be the moral victory game. Every losing streak has one. The Sabres will outplay the opposition but lose because the other team had better goaltending.
Projected post game quotes:
"If we play like that the rest of the season, we'll win a lot of games"
"Nine times out of ten when we play that well we win the game"
"I'm encouraged by the way we played tonight"

Hart's been real good, yeah. I wonder what it's like to have a reliable goalie...what a luxury.
