Those days are over. Get a new narrative. He's in his 4th season in Columbus already, they are looking very good again, and he has embraced young players and allowed them to play through mistakes without fear of retribution.

Really?
Because the only young players are high picks: Dubois (20) #3, Werenski (21) #7
Milano (22) #16 got 8:19 in 8 games before getting sent back to the AHL after playing 11:39 last season
Bjorkstrand (23) gets 11:35 after 14:18 last season
Duclair (23), in his 4th NHL season (started in Arizona), gets 13:08

Everyone else is 24 or older.
Nutivaara (24) has gone from 13:13, 16:02 to 18:18 over his 3 year NHL career
Anderson (24) from 12:01 to 18:02 to 16:28
Weenberg (24), #16, started at 20 with 15:37, 15:52, 18:23, 18:08, 14:53
Jenner (25), #37, started at 20

Top picks reach the NHL early, at 19-21, later picks more like 22 and gradually see their TOI increase.
And some players get sent down if they don't perform.

Wow, that sounds really unusual.

When will you be compiling that list of coaches you think are superior to Hakstol? I'd like to clear up some of the cognitive dissonance you issue. See, you claim that he's a run of the mill coach. But whenever people claim good coaches are better than this run of the mill coach, you insist they aren't.

So what is it?

Shove it Beef.

What I point out is when people try to show how teams do things so differently, especially playing young players, it turns out that most teams do things pretty much the same. There's this fantasy that the Flyers are ultra-conservative with prospects, when the reality is they're pretty much the NHL norm.

Top prospects usually play within a couple years of being drafted, outside the top 20 it takes 3-4 years for most players, after the 2nd round most players don't even make the NHL and those who do often take 4-5 years or more.

And a lot of players get limited minutes their first couple years, and then either move into a major role or move on.
And some prospects get a cameo, then back to the AHL, or struggle and then back to the AHL, it's normal for prospects to yo-yo for a year or two.

What NHL team has a roster full mostly of players under 25? You keep suggesting the Flyers will by the spring.

Flyers already have TK (21), Patrick (20), Lindblom (22), Laughton (24), Provorov (21), Sanheim (22), Hagg (23).
Myers (22), Friedman (23), Vorobyev (22), NAK (22) are good candidates for a callup.
Hart (20), is more of a long shot, as is Kase (22).

So that's 11-13 players in late spring who could be under 25. Only Laughton would "graduate" next year when Frost would be added.

It's not just the Blue Jackets, when I look at the upcoming schedule in general all I anticipate is pain... a lot of pain.
