Spicy GDT

Really enjoying things now. About to get a lot of games against teams who don't defend particularly well. Gonna be a lot of space and high danger chances to gobble up. Most importantly of all, Malkin has found his legs and confidence.
Pens looking to stick it to all the "Pens are bubble-out"-ers. Fair amount of them on this board too!

The teams we're chasing are gonna be playing each other a lot coming up here.

I was on the optimistic side of the board in the summer, saying they'll finish in 2nd behind Boston. It's still very much a possibility. Strength of schedule matters. Right now I'd settle for sneaking in though.

It's gonna be a dogfight.

Took some time to really figure out what the situation is. Who do you think is the most likely to fall out?

Both the models I looked at today said the Flyers but it's real tight and I'm not sure I agree with that. I think it probably comes down to who does best out of the 14 games against each other Phillie, NYI and Washington have against each other, and I don't see why the Flyers can't edge those.

We should be fine providing we don't capitulate to the Bruins and take advantage of our 16 games against the division's two teams, so I look forwards to panicking about playoffs in a month.

2 points is always 2 points, but I'd hesitate to take too much from wins against an NYR team missing it's best player, its young star goalie, its 2 recent lotto picks struggling far more than anyone thought they would, and its best offensive defenseman shelved.

This is not a good team we're facing.

It seems there is enough kryptonite to go around.

I like our chances as we have all our games against weaker teams Buffalo and NJ. It may come down to if we can actually take on Boston.

If I were to pick, I see the Caps and Flyers battling against #5.

It could easily go either way though.

You're right about flyers/capitals most likely battling for 5, but you left out the penguins. One of those three teams will definitely be missing the playoffs.... crazy to think an actually 'decently good' team will not make it, yet one or two of florida / chicago will make it.
