Dog days of summer so I thought this would be a good time to try to put this together.

Just picked Patrick 2nd obviously and with a ton of new faces both already on the team and ready to debut in '17 it feels like the beginning of a new era for the franchise.

25 is also a tidy number so of course there's that as well.

Spanning the beginning of the Lindros era (give or take) til now which players make up the board's consensus for best of the last 25 years? I added goalies as well because I want a hard and fast and more or less "definitive" list.

Use your own criteria for your decision and after you vote if you feel like it post who you voted for and why.

Thanks all. Lemme know if I forgot anyone in the poll.

Winner of Poll #3 is: Giroux, Claude.

I'm voting Desjardins in this round

The Case for Desjardins

Norris Finishes: 9, 9, 16, 5, 4, 10, 14

End of season All-Star Voting among D-Men: 5, 9, 10, 4, 4, 13, 17

Averaged nearly 25 minutes of Ice Time his final 7 seasons

+143

Rarely had a great partner

Average over 40 points per season over 11 seasons

Recchi was a hell of a player for us but I don't think he had as many seasons of being top 10 at his position as Desjardins did as a Flyer.

Sticking with Rex... was a high quality Player here for a long period over his two stints... and great enough to net both LeClair and Rico in a single trade... respected enough to be off the table in the Lindros trade dealings.

I think this is where it starts getting interesting.

I'm pretty sure it has to be Desjardins right now, but after this it's a bit more open.

Thinking about the next 5, all skaters right now. I have no idea when the right time is to fit Hexy in.

That is probably when the personal favorites come into play... the Prongers, Primeaus, Hextalls, Roenicks, Forsbergs, Renbergs, Leinos, Hatchers... and dare I say one of mine... Knubles. :naughty:

For sure. I think we see fewer picks that are consensus - more pluralities and fewer majorities.
