Just heard theres a rumor wilkes barre is going to have a NCDC team next szn.

It would make sense.

They match the USPHL and NCDC model:
Organization owners own the rink.
Cradle to college model and the organization has teams at every level from U6 to juniors.
Excellent location and match the league footprint.
Rink/organization owners want the team to stimulate other revenues.

They didn't make it in the NAHL's model, but they'd make it in the NCDC's. They made the jump from NAHL/EHL and now are in their first USPHL season.

The same teams that broke up the old AJHL and EJHL are still having their pissing contests. Would be nice to see another free to play team but it is doubtful that this is in the best interest of the players.

NCDC and the USPHL is a better fit for them as an organization.

Tier 1 Hockey Federation, USPHL Announce Collaboration, Mercer Chiefs Join NCDC For 2022-23

Apparently the Mercer Chiefs, a youth hockey team based out of Hamilton Township, NJ is adding a NCDC.

On a minor note, major shakeup for midget hockey on the east coast.
Interesting. "Black Bear Sports" owns and operates the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, and the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL, along with Team Maryland (EHL) and their programs out of that rink. I'm guessing this a similar thing to what they did in Maryland with Piney Orchard where they run the rink and the Mercer Chiefs clubs, and are adding a junior program there as well.

Black Bear Sports is a fairly well known entity on the East Coast. They buy underperforming rinks with established programs which need just need a cash injection and proper management to operate properly. They have a pretty good business plan.
