I applaud him for that effort but boy does he need work on his skating acceleration. Don't blame him though, he's a big boy.

Disappointed they couldn't pull off the comeback. Overall, the players that we want to play well did. There is just a lot of dead weight on this team.

He wouldn't mind a neutral zone cross checking penalty because it was "sticking up or his teammate"

That's what I mean...I thought he was DEAD in the water as the guy raced up behind him. But he used his size, reach and positioning to close the door and it led to our last chance.

I only watch the sabres every once in a while, but it looks pretty promising in a few years for you guys. hopefully the rest of the season works out for you - could be a pretty exciting team.

Lowry faces Player Safety Hearing Thursday

Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry will have a hearing Thursday afternoon with the Department of Player Safety after an incident with Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta in a game Wednesday night at First Niagara Center.

Lowry was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding Kaleta with 5:54 left in the second period.

The Jets won the game 2-1.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

One game seems rather light for such a blatantly dangerous hit. The NHL DoPS missed the mark on this one IMO.

It was definitely a bad hit - as a Jets fan, I was expecting a harsher punishment. Lowry has not been known through his Junior and AHL career as being a dirty player, but that doesn't excuse his decision making in this instance.
