Anyone have an idea when next year's schedule will be released? I have an invite to a golf outing, and a concert I would like to see, but I certainly do not want to miss the home opener this year.

I’d rather do either. You can catch the game after you get back thanks to dvr/the internet.

I don't think there has been any clear indication regarding a release date. Based on conclusions to prior seasons, I would guess mid-to-late July. The targeted season opener is October 12 though that could vary. September 22 is the working day for training camp openers.

The schedule has to be approved by the PA and that could be time-consuming.

Yeah, season usually opens somewhere around the 9th to 12th. We are thinking about going to see Styx at Parx casino on the 9th, so that's why i am looking for specifics.

The latest update which is status quo:

The NHL plans to release the 2021-22 schedule before the 2021 NHL Draft on July 23-24. The NHL is working on two versions of the schedule -- one that includes a break for the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and another that does not -- pending the resolution to ongoing discussions with the NHLPA and the International Olympic Committee.
NHL plans for return to 82-game schedule, previous divisions next season

This is a pretty tough end of season schedule travel-wise.
