Pitcher who hasn't proven he can stay healthy for more than a month or two as a starter keeps getting injured. Whenever Whitlock returns, let him be the great bullpen arm he is instead of worrying about getting the max value out of his extension
Bingo.

It's giving Daniel Bard. And we just need to avoid that. Tell Garrett he's in the pen and move forward. Clearly he can't handle being a starter. We need to stop forcing it

Sea Dogs and Yard Goats will play a single admission DH tonight @ 6 PM to kick off the latest homestand (likely a makeup of the April Nor'Easter)

Said it since they were THINKING of making the change. They should have left him alone in the role that worked.

Random thoughts

1) Struggle or not, I enjoy this team so much more than last year group of mercenaries. The struggle is real some times but at least they are learning. There was no teaching Justin Turner 1B

2) Would this have been the contract year for Devers? If so, he would have gotten $$$$

3) Anyone concerned the "ace" Bello has the highest ERA?

4) Is Matthew Lugo a Legit prospect or he just off to a hot start? He is older but not that old for AA and is leading the heirs apparent in most metrics.

Not super concerned about Bello having the highest ERA when it’s still sub-4. I am concerned with the number of homers he’s been allowing since the 2nd half of last season

Lugo is interesting, he’s clearly filled out. He’s definitely back on the prospect map. He’s still striking out a bit too much and he looks like his best position may be LF so he’ll really have to mash but he’s back on the radar for sure. He’s Beltran’s nephew

Duran is 27 but I do hope they sign him for 4-5 years or thru a year or two of arbitration

Anyone agree?

He might be able to relax a bit and really take off

The last 2 seasons he’s stats add up to a full season and his numbers over it look like this

2B 47
3B 10
HR 11
SB 35

His home run should convince him if already didn’t that he can hit it out of anywhere

He should be an Al Oliver approach guy - see ball hit hard and run

Very happy for him

Get Casas back and at least win 81+

Not to beat a dead horse but the Phillies are an MLB best 35-14. Year 4 of Dombrowski. It's almost like they are getting better and better. But sure, fire him less than a year after a record setting WS victory!

Nice one! Oliver was a great hitter.

That approach would cut down Duran's strikeout numbers. Guy with his wheels needs to put the ball in play more.

Dombrowski will end up in HOF

When hired Gammons who has been writing about him since 70’s??? He was young - expos or WS.

Gammons said he was so excited and honored to be with Red Sox

Logic says if allowed to spend he wins here

Always comes back to Betts

He’s a top 100 All Timer

That killed them losing him
