The Toronto Maple Leafs and Arizona Coyotes have completed a transaction that will send Mitch Marner and Simon Benoit to the Desert in exchange for Mattias Maccelli, Juilan Lutz, a first-round pick in 2025, and Toronto's own second-round pick in 2025.



The Maple Leafs would like to thank Mitch and Simon, particularly Mitch, for his time in Toronto. Unfortunately, we reached a point where we couldn't afford to re-sign Mitch, nor could we let him walk for nothing.

Also, we would like to welcome Mattias and Julian. It's uncertain where the latter will be playing next season, but Mattias will be a big part of things with the Leafs for the coming season.



Insider note: interesting that the Maple Leafs acquired their own 2nd round pick back from the Coyotes...
