It's time for our annual Ducks prospect rankings. Each poll will run for 48 hours except in the case of a clear landslide. I will go to the top 25 and include a final poll where you can pick 5 honorable mentions. Please tell me who you want me to add in the replies. In the sixteenth poll I am voting for Nikita Nesterenko.

As always the list will define prospects as hockeysfuture does: NHL Prospect Criteria - Hockey's Future.

Damn, we're at the 16th ranked prospect poll and we actually have a lot of known talent still on board with F Nesterenko, LW Tracey (late 1st rd pick), C Groulx (2nd rd pick), RW Colangelo (2nd rd pick), G Clang and goal scoring C Kukkonen. The other 2023 second round picks in C Terrance and G Clara still aren't on the radar. 2023 3rd round pick Sidorov did shine at Dev camp. We got some crazy depth!

And we'll be adding another six picks in first three rounds of next year's draft! One in the 1st, two in the 2nd, and three in the 3rd round of the 2024 draft.

Going with Carey Terrance here. Like I’ve mentioned before his speed is the best in our prospect pool. Legit weapon as well has his shot. His head needs to catch up with his speed though. But man I’m excited for him and what he can do this upcoming season. Next is Sidorov for me.

Wow, how weird that Kyle Kukkonen has been added to the most recent poll per request and has one vote. I wonder who is responsible for that selection ;)

Wow, how weird that Kyle Kukkonen has been added to the most recent poll per request and has one vote. I wonder who is responsible for that selection ;)

I'm surprised I forgot to look for Kukkonen in previous polls b/c I factored him into that range of Gaucher, Hvidston, Pastujov, and Myatovic. Often highlighting he was the 5th highest, freshman goal scorer in the NCAA last year with 18 goals. If Kukkonen continues to be high goal scorer this coming season, then his stock will definitely rise in next year's prospect ranking poll. He also showed off his goal scoring prowess in the Dev camp 3v3 at ES and shootout.

  • Top-5 goal scoring Freshmen NCAA, 2022-23
    • 1. Fantilli (2023, Rd 1, 3rd OA): 30 goals
    • 2. Cooley (2022, Rd 1, 3rd OA): 22 goals
    • 3-tied. Snuggerud (2022, Rd 1, 23rd OA): 21 goals
    • 3-tied. Steeves (Undrafted from 2020, I believe): 21 goals
    • 5-tied. Kukkonen (2021, Rd 5): 18 goals
    • 5-tied. McGroarty (2022, Rd 1, 14th OA): 18 goals

For added perspective, Colangelo has never eclipsed 12 goals in his three seasons in the NCAA's. Although, he got injured in his freshman year and only played 8 games. Troy Terry broke over 14 goals once in his three-years in college with 22 goals in his sophomore season.
