After a valiant effort to make the PO, Red wings are unfortunately eliminated. Some really solid seasons from both the young guns and vets, but who was their best/MVP player this year? Let's discuss..

Main candidates imo.

Lucas Raymond
-2nd in goals and 1st in points on team
- leads team in EV goals and points
-23rd in EV goals leaguewide and -17th in EV points leaguewide
-39th in goals leaguewide

Moritz Seider
- 2nd most blocked shots in the league and 52 more than next best teammate
-25th most hits leaguewide and 45 more than next best teammate
- 1st in ATOI on team, 2 minutes more than 2nd best
-32nd in points among all Dmen
-38th in PPG among all Dmen

Dylan Larkin
-leads team in goals and 2nd in points despite missing 15 games
-highest PPG on team
-26th in goals leaguewide
-21st in GPG leaguewide
-28th in PPG leaguewide
-only top 6 forward on the team with a positive +/-
-averages most TOI on team(forwards) minute more than 2nd best
-22nd highest ATOI among all forwards

Shayne Gostisbehere
-30th in goals among all Dmen
-36th in GPG among all Dmen
-13th in points among all Dmen
-17th in PPG among all Dmen
-4th in team scoring, 13 more points than next best dman

HM

Alex Lyon (min 20 GP stats)
-34th in sv% leaguewide
-31st in goals saved above expected per 60
-25th in high danger unblocked shot sv%

Patrick Kane
-2nd highest PPG and GPG on team

Let me know if I'm missing anyone on the poll!

Coyotes - Keller
NYI - Dobson*

Larkin and it isn't very close. Raymond and Seider are coming into their own, though. Need to keep Seider away from Chiarot from now on.
On a per game basis you're probably right the answer is clear. But missing 14 games when you've been so close in the PO race the entire season.. One could argue the others who played a full season. Esp since Seider, Raymond and ghost are pretty high in certain statistical categories leaguewide.

Seider for how screwed they would be without him. Larkin was excellent though, but they have way more depth in offense.

Larkin - best player on a per-game basis
Raymond - best season of anyone on the team
Seider - toughest role and doing the most "heavy lifting"

I voted Raymond, perhaps influenced by how great he was in the last month or two.

It's Larkin. Raymond played so well down the stretch tho that I did have to think about it for a bit. But then I remembered how we're like a .200 team when Larkin doesn't play and I made the correct choice
