Not sure if this is already posted, couldn’t find it anywhere. With the World Championships taking place now and the Olympics less than a year away, if the NHL decides to not allow their players to go, who is on your country’s roster?

Only nine teams have officially qualified, so any team who is still in qualification could potentially go to the Olympics.

Lets see your rosters.

I’ll take a stab at Canada.

Goalies
Zach Fucale (Hershey Bears)
Michael Garteig (HIFK)
Nico Daws (ERC Ingolstadt)

Defence
Maxim Noreau (ZSC Lions)
Karl Stollery (HC Bolzano)
Cody Goloubef (Belleville Senators)
Chay Genoway (Yekaterinburg)
Marc-Andre Gragnani (Djurgardens)
Simon Despres (Eisbaren Berlin)
Paul Postma (EC Klagenfurter)

Forwards
Brandon Pirri (Rockford Ice Hogs)
Brandon Kozun (Dynamo Minsk)
Zach Boychuk (Eisbaren Berlin)
Eric Fehr (Geneve-Servette)
Quinton Howden (Malmo RedHawks)
Adam Tambellini (Rogle BK)
Cory Emmerton (Lausanne)
Andrew Ebbett (EHC Munchen)
Matt D’Agostini (Ambrii-Piotta)
Christian Thomas (Kookoo)
Derek Roy (EHC Munchen)
Kevin Clark (Eisbaren Berlin)
Justin Danforth (Vityaz)

I could be way off, but this is a collaboration of 2018 Olympic, 2017-2019 Spengler Cup, World Championship rostered players and names I have seen mentioned as good players.

It's a shame no AHL guys... I think Canada (and US) could really benefit from AHL guys... a few countries could.

Fucale, Pirri, and Goloubef all play for AHL clubs. I could probably find a ton of AHL players but the issue is that if they get called up, they wouldn’t be eligible. Zac Dalpe was on my original list but now he’s playing in Columbus.

The NHL and the NHLPA have already agreed to go and the Olympic groups are pushing the fact the NHL is sending players----could be interesting if they change their minds

Ceresnak instead of Grman and you can also add Marincin, who goes to Europe.

Finland with Jukka Jalonen as coach would win 60% of games vs KHL team Russia with that roster he is clearly best national team coach for that kind of tournament.

You are pretty much right and the bad news for other teams is that J.Jalonen has just signed to be the head coach of Finland for 2 more years with NHL option.

Now for one time let J.Jalonen have some real star players so we don't have to see only defending (against the top nations) :). We haven't seen that in a while.

It would probably just be a bunch of KHL guys again. Russia would obviously be a heavy favorite but the one plus is it gives one of the bad countries a better shot at a miracle run like Germany last time, which you would hope at least could help the development nationally. They should consider limiting it to solely amateur players for something different.

Sweden with no NHLers will finish last place in the entire tournament.
Well only if every other team for whatever reason got to bring their NHLers, but even so probably not considering the host nation is going to be icing a roster of guys who wouldn't even make NCAA Division 3 rosters.
