*Some of the numbers might not add up cleanly because of the underlying decimals.

That's 170 goals for, 148 goals against, so a strong regular season for the team.

Anything that doesn't seem right?

Looking at these predictions, the Lightning, Hurricanes, and Stars were expected to be playoff teams, but nobody had Florida having the start they are having. If Florida returns to what is expected, the Central looks a lot like people expected. If Florida keeps winning, we could be on the outside looking in.

The HF board that should be melting down is the Preds. Maybe it is.

I say keep Torts, give players time to gel, be happy Anderson is doing well in Montreal, and enjoy the fact we have hockey.

By points percentage the Discover Central is currently

Panthers
Hurricanes
Stars
Lightning
CBJ
Blackhawks
Preds
Wings

You also have to consider who teams have played. Florida has not played any games versus the top three teams, it has just been the Jackets and then the two expected bottom feeders. And all but two of their games have gone to OT. Nothing can be seen yet.

Barkov also has yet to have first of his regular injuries this year.

The fact we got circles skated around us by Nashville is a pretty big red flag right now

As upset as we all get the Jackets lose, keep one thing in mind:

At best, CBJ ends up 4th in the division

No I don't want the team to take a dive, but do we want this team to have to take on Tampa again in the first round?

or be in the lottery?

I don't see the need to lose in the first round. I'd like to make some progress, but finish 6th

and get lucky with a top 3 draft pick. At some point Jarmo has to plan for the future

I'd rather play Tampa.

If the team isn't competitive enough to keep the top talents it has left, you're almost certainly not making up for it in the draft lottery. I look at this year's expected top ten and there are going to be guys taken there who are just middle pair D and middle six F.
