Initial OP post from October 17th:

TSN is doing a live reveal on Monday. Is it just the 1 arena in the Edmonton bubble? How do we think the schedule will work? 3 games per day would leave them 2 games short of finishing the round robin Dec 26 to 31st. Do they stuff a 4th game in there on 2 days or play 2 games on New Years Day? In addition to that will the QF all be on the same day with only 1 arena or 2 on the 2nd, 2 on the 3rd?

Could see a team having their final 2 round robin games on the 31st, and 1st, followed by a QF on the 3rd, SF on the 4th, final of the 5th would be quite the run of games.

So they've decided to start a day early to get all 20 round robin games in. Smart decision, running 4 games in a day on 1 arena is tough. They'll be doing that for the QF though. Probably so nobody has a rest advantage.

1 other scheduling quirk with starting a day early. Both USA and Finland will see consecutive days off during the round robin. Unavoidable given the 2 game day on the 28th combined with the surrounding 3 game days on either side with each pool having only 2 games in 2 days stretches, 1 team would have to take both days off.

Looks like the czech fans got the jackpot schedule with 3 games starting at 2PM.

I cannot wait. This is my favorite hockey of the year. I too two weeks off work a d this is my main reason.

games on Christmas Day. yes please! presents, turkey, hockey, then a pre-game nap before the U.S. v Russia game. I like that sched.

This is the one tournament that needs to happen. cheers to all the teenagers who play in this tournament attempting to bring a little cheer and normalcy to these tough times we're dealing with.
