Those two kids were named and built (yes built) to build hype and put them in the position they are today. I would want no part in drafting either and feel fairly confident they will not amount to anything in the NHL.
Are you saying they were created in a lab?

It’s not often that your parents build and fund a school solely to skirt the rules of established schools and leagues in the area and use it as prep to get their kids in this position.

Worked for Hyman.

I've heard nothing but great things about Gentry. The politics of high school sports in MN are no different than anywhere else. Public and private schools blur the lines and skirt the rules all the time.

Sounds like you just don't like that the kid for "reasons".

One of my kids used to play against those brothers in summer hockey once in a while. That "school" was certainly quite the story for a while.

Nikita Chibrikov is an early favorite of mine. Not really ranked in anyone's top 10 but I think he'll be cemented in the top 10 by the end of the year. Plays on Khusnutdinov's team a lot and in my viewings has been better than him.

Alright let’s go for next year. Was just scrolling through the Eite Prospects draft pages. Man, this draft looks so weak. Atu Raty, who some think is the current front-runner for 1st overall (I’d be shocked) couldn’t even crack his Liiga team this year. Very few players were able to get close to a ppg in the CHL and all of the best players on the U17 team last year are 2022 eligible. 2022 looks stacked. Fleming from Minnesota I think has a shot to be the best Minnesota born forward ever.

Pump the brakes, you have Broten on this list

is the stat sheet i looked at incorrect? 923 points in 1099 games is pretty dang good for a minnesota born forward.

Not really, when your prime spans the entire 80’s and early 90’s. Only 5 seasons of >ppg. It’s a fine career, but hardly insurmountable.

I wouldn’t hate to take goalie Jesper Wallstedt with our 2nd first if it’s in the teens. Would be nice if we could snag a potential number 1 defenseman and number 1 goalie in this draft to go with Rossi and an already stacked winger core.

I wouldn't either. This goes to show you as well, there is always next year. I never understood why fans, scouts, and others pegged Minnesota to take Askarov when the depth at forward was so deep in this year's draft. As good as Askarov is, it was insane to think of taking him in the top 10.

I'd love to draft Wallstedt with Pittsburgh's 1st next year if he makes it that far.

i still think we are missing a grade A rw sniper prospect. since we added D last draft i'd still focus on a C & RW with our 1sts. yes i know its a heavy D draft.

I still think we need Centers. We can always turn a failed RH shot center to a RW if needed. Plus can't Kaprizov play RW if we are in a big pinch? Maybe in a few years we might see something like:

Boldy - 1C - Fiala
Beckman - 2C - Kaprizov

Best. Player. Available.

...and if all else is equal, a slight-bias towards a RH shot C/RW.

I mean what if a goalie is the BPA?

I'm generally against the idea of drafting goalies in the 1st round. But since we have 2 picks in the top 32, I could be convinced if a top goalie prospect is available w/ the second pick.
