I think it's good to note for Euro players that develop/junior leagues like Nationell and SM-sarja are leagues that are temporary placement for covid guidelines. So SuperElit and Jr. A are leagues that would usually have draft eligible players, but won't continue to play until further notice.

Can any of our Euro posters confirm that? Thanks in advance!

Interesting that in Tankathon, Beniers is out of the top 10. If that was where the Rangers were picking and he was available, I would be aggressive and move up a couple of spots. Also, cannot find Pastujov there. I would not be able to pass on him or Sillinger. Think that Polptapov goes sooner.

Chayka is interesting, but again, I would not pass on Pastujov.

A Wallstedt pick would shut these boards down. But I do like him a lot.

I think sites, like Tankathon, are waiting to provide more info as leagues start to play. That'll change a lot.

I think Wallstedt has serious contention to go No. 1. That's bold to say, but he's absolutely dominating in the SHL!! NYR will have plenty of eyes on him. If he's there at NYR's pick, I'd absolutely take him. No matter the goalie depth they have. He's that good!!

There's an international break at the moment in Europe. Next week league games will start again

I like Wallstedt because I picked him in Eastside Hockey Manager before I knew he was a real person. Won 6 or 7 Vezinas with me.

Bolduc would be interesting.

As a follow-up to a comment I made earlier in the thread, he and Rimouski are finding themselves caught in a bit of a post-Lafreniere vortex right now.

Last I looked they were 0-5-2, with Bolduc registering 2 goals and zero assists through 4 games.

Is Wallstedt being mocked in the late first frequently? I figured he'd be a top ten or top five guy, if he is regarded more highly than Askarov.

He is right up there with Askarov. And like Askarov on talent and potential alone, deserves to be in the top-5. But am sure that the top 5 may well be filled with one forward and several defensemen.

Call me crazy, but, I do not see this as a possibility.

We'll see as the year goes on. He's ranked in the early to late teens, recently. But with this class being as weak as it is, it isn't out of the realm of possibility for a goalie as talented and dominant as Wallstedt to go really early. He's been playing pro hockey since he was 16 and is seemingly taking over the starting position with Lulea. He's been hyped for 3-4 years now and proving it.

Askarov and, arguably, Vasilevskiy weren't as dominant in their draft years. All of them, though, are stellar goaltenders. Like Askarov, whoever selects him will be dancing in the streets.

I think most, if not all scouts have him firmly in the top half of the first round. As a goalie, I expect he’ll be ranked a little lower on some public lists until those observers catch up.

You’re also going to once again see a lot of players incorrectly listed as centers on those sites.

Michigan is going to be really fun to follow this year!!

I wonder how it will be different or similar to Wisconsin a few years ago..everyone was super excited about how many top prospects were going there while probably ignoring how young they would all be at the same time.

the positive for the rangers is that we've got a guy at michigan so we should be watching them closely anyway so it could mean we get more looks at some of these guys.

That's a good point. We'll see how they can adjust.
