This is not a totally unbiased name-drop, but I would love to see the Rangers go for Conner Roulette with one of their 3rd round picks.

Watching him play for the T-birds, he would be a much more exciting prospect to follow as I watch the T-birds on a weekly basis

I was never a fan of Rempe and still don't understand the pick.

i

If someone told me to pick one player in this draft for my time, I feel like I'd be most happy to come away with Beniers.

I think he's a "winning" player in the NHL. That's the guy who I think gives you the best combination of everything, even if he isn't the best at any one thing.

Completely agree. I think teams that pass on him are going to regret it.

These dudes are years away so I'm not necessarily interested in taking a center just for the sake of it. I want the best kid available. Give me Coronato.

Just a few kids on the radar for the mid/late rounds, Kisakov, Florian Elias, Samuel Helenius, Ruben Rafkin, Topias Vilen, Valtteri Koskela, Ville Koivunen, Eetu Liukas, Jacob Guévin, William Trudeau.

Some of these dudes I haven't seen and don't know much outside of some looking around, but nice little mix of skill, some role players, some overagers. Get some good value later in the draft

This draft is particularly exciting because the OHL not playing presents opportunities. Correct me if I'm wrong but a number of good prospects from the OHL like Lockhart, Johnston, Voit, etc. didn't go play somewhere else. Theres a number of players there that are first and second round talents that could slip because of it. Gotta love having some extra mid round picks this year

I'm not going to pretend I know anything but from what I've read I would like Raty in the 1st then trade back up late first or early second and grab Svechkov.

I haven’t checked in a while or can’t remember. Has the NHL made the decision on whether the Arizona pick is included in the lottery or is pulled?

1001 different combinations, with 1 combination resulting in a redraw (11, 12, 13, 14). If you remove the combinations of 1 pick, you'd have to re-shuffle all your combinations. Not sure if that's difficult or not.

you could just remove all the combinations that would be assigned to arizona just like that 1 odd one yoy mentioned...it would increase the chances of needing to draw again cause it was an invalid combo but then you don't need to change anything else or odds assigned to each team.

That could work. Maybe causes a re-draw. That's not terrible.

The more I watch and re-watch and bounce my views off others. The more I feel like I want to take Chibrikov if he's on the board.

I know there are centers who will be there, and Lord knows we don't "need" another skilled right wing.

But, man, this kid has a shot to be dangerous. He's becoming a tough one to pass on.

Tried the draftsim and came away with this:

15. L’Heureux-C
64. Roulette
79. Helenius-C
99. Buium-LD
105. Stjernborg-C
111. Doan-C
143. Canonical-C/LW
175. Kolosov-G
207. Cardwell-C

On the L’Heureux pick over Lucius and Svechkov it really came down to getting the most talented pain in the ass possible.

C'mon. Centers are overrated. I can see another D man cause thats just what they do.

Love the Roulette pick. He's one of my favourite kids in this draft

(18) Aatu Raty, C
(50) Logan Stankoven, C
(64) Colton Dach, LW
(79) Matthew Knies, LW
(99) Joshua Roy, C
(105) Kyle Masters, RD
(111) Niko Huuhtanen, RW
(143) Hugo Gabrielsson, LD
(175) Hunter Strand, C
(207) Kirill Gerasimyuk, G

Had #15, Four centers were still on the board. Z L'H, Bolduc, Raty, and Bourgault. Traded 15 to MTL for 18 and 50, so they can draft the Frenchie, knowing i still had a shot at one of the 4 centers. 3 of the 4 went in a row, with MTL taking Z L'H, and Raty fell to me. Grabbed Stankoven with #50.
