I like how the complaints about how IIHF rules would mean suspensions in the responses to the tweet. This is the USA baby, we got our own rules!

(I actually don’t the USHL rules but they maybe they aren’t as draconian as some of the Canadian juniors recently have become about this sort of thing. And that only happened because the Canadian government forced them to change because those leagues rely on a huge amount of government money.)

I think ELC, when healthy he has been quite a good player. He will likely play in ECHL to start.

This is interesting, does he count as a 'defected player' under the CBA and would the Devils retain his rights until 2024 as a result - I'm too lazy to check right now.

“Defected player” means the NHL doesn’t have transfer agreement with that league, which means the KHL. Those make the rights indefinite.

It should be 4 years because he’s 19 when he’s signing. (But maybe I’m wrong.)
