Hideki is an anomaly historically for Japanese golf. This'll do almost nothing for Japanese golf. Maybe a few extra kids get excited, but tangibly you probably are not effecting very much
Very uninformed, naive view of a foreign country and culture.

Here's an excerpt from an article in the Wall Street Journal today:

"It was a hallmark triumph for a golf-crazy nation that now has a bona fide international superstar with his very own green jacket. And it arrives at a moment when shifts in the sport’s culture there make it entirely possible that this will be just the beginning for Japan’s international golf success"

With all due respect this is the biggest win since 1997. 2013 and 2015 wins are inconsequential.

Nah.

This will go down as pretty average in terms of significance and meaning and what not.

Even look at the last two wins. Dustin, one of the best to ever do it, finally breaking through in another major while setting the scoring record. And then what happened to Tiger, 2019 is going to be remembered as his great Final Act, and it was one of the more entertaining final rounds.

Sorry but this isn't as big or significant as you think it is. Congrats to him though.

We agree to disagree. In North America and the US in particular I can understand you opinion just because of a myopic view of the world.
