This after CBJ announced that Torts won't be back.

Gallant is still out there too.

Seattle hasn't hired anyone.

Carolina extended Rod the Bod. And got raise (Heard new contract is $1.8m, perhaps double what he had been getting. )

Will be an interesting summer.

Between GMs and coaches, will be interesting to see what owners opt to do. Contracts may play a big role in all this:

GM - NY Rangers have an opening. Any of Buf, NJ, Van, Cal, Ana could consider a change. Buf is still a mess. NJ, have they committed to Fitzgerald as their GM? Van, Benning has mismanaged their cap. Cal, Tre has gone through 5 HC now without playoff success. Ana, worst offense in the NHL this past season and a 3rd consecutive non-playoff appearance.

Coaches - CBS, SEA, AZ are open. Buffalo has an Interim HC. NYR, could move off Quinn if new GM Drury wants to.

In Van, Green doesn't have a contract for 21-22 season, so easily replaced. Anaheim could if they let Murray go. Think Ruff as a veteran stays on with NJ. Sutter got the full time job, but never know in Calgary.

And of course, playoff failure for some teams will lead to changes.

Isn’t Ducharme interim coach? I would suspect that it would not take a playoff failure for Montreal to look for replacement, although a playoff failure could theoretically mean that they would need both a new coach and a GM.

out of coaching vacancies, any GMs that could take a risk and hire someone interesting (like Gronborg or Jalonen from Europe)?

F0rgot about him. His future, likely tied to Bergervin. If Marc is let go, new GM likely picks a new HC.

I could see a few teams where the GM and/or HC is in hot water if they fall in round 1.

"Mutually agreed to part company" is what your boyfriend says when you dump him and his buddies ask what happened.

In the business world, it usually translates as "We want you to leave permanently; do you want to go out the front door or the back door?"

NYR doesn't have a GM opening. They announced Chris Drury as the new president/GM right away.
