Hey folks...

That time of year again. Someday the title will say something about playoffs. But not this year. Looking at winning percentages around the league it seems that a winning percentage of .600 would be required for the dance. On a 56 game season that would equate to 68 points.

We have 28 games left. We'd need to win 24 of them.

Covid is messing with games played so we'll track by winning percentage this year. We will look at Detroit's percentage and include any teams up or down by .100.

Example--> Detroit's % today is .357. Any teams that fall between .457 and .257 will be in the window that we will track.

SJS .457
VAN .433
NSH .426
NJD .413
ANA .407
DET .357
OTT .328
BUF .320

Tomorrow's games of interest
OTT vs EDM
SJS vs ANA

I get the feeling that we are just a modest streak away from drafting in the 6-8 position.

Quite true. Posters always talk about finishing last or close to in recent years. A little bit of winning can change that pretty quick.

We should be the 2nd worst, because the damn Seattle comes in between to have the 3rd best lottery odd.

In lottery order it's...

SJS .457
VAN .433
NSH .426
NJD .413
ANA .407
DET .357
Seattle

OTT .328
BUF .320

...currently.

Wings are only 4 points out of dead last with Buffalo playing 3 less games. Buffalo seems to be in a tailspin I think they’re destined for last overall. You have to wonder about Ottawa. That roster is way better than the Wings and still challenging for dead last but you could say the same for Buffalo. The Wings being bottom 3 is the least concerning just based on roster alone

OMFG how much do Buffalo fans HATE the Jeff Skinner contract right about now? What a freaking nightmare looking forward. Signed through '26-'27 for 9M AAV! At least we don't have that on our roster, geez. NMC attached to it, but that's irrelevant since you can't move that deal anyway.

Complacency belly, broseph got paid. He knows he's trade proof & buyout proof (especially for a small market team). BUF is a solid hockey town, their fans deserve better.

Under the new (proposed) rules we can fall no more than 3 spots to 7th if standings are to remain the same.

Looking at that list I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see that shit happen and San Jose jump into first after losing their first rounder to Ottawa last year.

I think with Seattle factored in, we really gotta hope for one of the two bottom spots. 2nd or 4th? 2nd please.

I anticipated us, Ottawa, and Anaheim hovering around the bottom 3 in some order. I did not anticipate Buffalo absolutely cratering for what feels like the tenth year in a row.

Seeing Buffalo pick above us yet again would be a pretty tough pill to swallow ngl.
Considering the lack of talent on this team (and the one guy with talent has no effort), it's hard to imagine any NHL team being worse.

Apparently there are coaches worse than Blash.

Ottawa loses. Anaheim loses to SJ. Not a great result. We'll call it 2 out of a possible 5 "tank points".
With the win SJ goes above .457.

In parenthesis is yesterday's percentage, showing the change.

VAN .433
NSH .426
NJD .413
ANA .393 (.407)
DET .357
SEATTLE KRAKEN
BUF .320
OTT .317 (.328)

Oh, and the rangers are playing. Always hoping for ranger's losses for 2nd round draft pick position.

I'd like to make a trade request.

To BUF: 10 wins in 2020-2021
To DET: 10 wins in a season to be named later.

At this point the Sabres are becoming the Detroit Lions of the NHL.

Detroit picking 4th. Perfectly balanced, as it should be.
