Gonzaga doesn't look like it has enough defense to make it back

Oh man, Baylor back up 18 on the 3.

Would be a pretty dramatic choke job if Baylor lost now.

These commercial breaks are really pissing me off and another example of why watching sports is becoming more and more of a chore. 3 seconds of action in-between them now.

Gonzaga is an incredibly over rated program and coach with only 2 Final Four appearances in school history. I asked Lionel Ritchie how long the Bears will be dunking on them Monday night. He replied "All Night Long".
This was posted yesterday.

huh, so gonzaga constantly beating up on schools like santa clara, st. mary's, pepperdine, and pacific didn't prepare them well for the title game? who would've thought

zags are like the sharks, always make it far but nothing to show for it

To think this is the same Baylor that just a few years ago lost in consecutive years to a 14 and 13 seed.

Baylor didn't exactly play a gauntlet either. They got to beat up on Kansas State, an overrated Texas, Iowa State, West Virginia, a down Oklahoma, and somehow a team that basically was untested all March prepared them well for the title game. Was the Big 12 REALLY that good in all honesty?

Their tourney run- overseeded Wisconsin, Houston which played no single digit seeds, Villanova which isn't as good as prior Nova teams, and an Arkansas team that played with fire all March.

Baylor might be one of the least tested champs ever. Outside of KU and Cade Cunningham, did they ever break a sweat this year?

They lived by the three and somehow didn't die by the 3.

Not since 2009 UNC has a team won the men's title with as little adversity as Baylor

Please, Chris....the NHL has the Cup Final set up in such a way that the league practically mandates it has to go to a minimum Game 6 every single year for the purposes of TV ratings. Due to the league being perpetually hard up for money. Just shows that the money managers in the NHL don't do their jobs right.

And wow......more butt-kissing of 'Indiana '76'! We all know that those who are with the University of Indiana don't ever want to see anyone else go unbeaten in an NCAA season ever again, just to protect their champagne. If you're one of those people, retire to the past where you belong, and stop following NCAA basketball. Because no one should be beholden to what you want for the NCAA.

Because, to you, the only thing you think about is 'Infest the whole league with my insiders to ensure ALL attempts by anyone else to join us is stopped because you didn't do it the same way we did!'. That is the type of crap that needs to die within that culture. Indiana '76 isn't a sacred cow to be surrounded....it needs to meet it's destiny in the slaughterhouse.

And to all those who make mention of 'undefeated-unbeaten-perfect season', stop speaking those terms, and don't ever play up that angle to make money for yourself. On those terms, and their derivatives, just shut up. Period. Because the perfect season does not happen if you explore the possibilities beforehand. It fails every time. The team trying to get one loses. Don't speak those until AFTER the fact, when it's just a moot point.

Baylor winning the national title is like a North Division team winning the Cup.

they came out of a top heavy division/conference

It's because they have turned from lovable underdog to a top tier NCAA Basketball program.

Of course, they are proving every one of their doubters right now. That miracle shot versus UCLA will be remembered as more of a footnote if this keeps up.

What has been overshadowed is the story of Baylor. Their basketball program all but got the death penalty from the NCAA nearly 20 years ago and is on the verge on winning it all.

It’s not like they tried avoiding the big dogs in their non-conf schedule. They were supposed to play Baylor...

But yes, Drew winning a title at Baylor might be the most impressive accomplishment in the history of the NCAA for a D1 sport given the situation he inherited.

Remember when the Rockets missed 27 straight threes a few years ago?

Baylor last night could have launched 27 straight threes and made 25 of them.

they could do no wrong. One of THOSE nights

I mean when you look at the latest AP, Baylor has beaten the teams ranked 2, 3, 6, 8, 11, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 29 and 30 (and had to go through 2 extended COVID breaks)
Sure you can try and find something wrong with every opponent but that looks like a pretty impressive resume

I guess Baylor truly was battle tested against powerhouses like TCU, Kansas State, Iowa state, Oklahoma......

They'll be the biggest one hit wonder since the 06 Hurricanes

Chris, I don’t even understand what you’re trying to get at. They lived up to their preseason top 2 ranking consistently all year, and they put on an exclamation point on a 28-2 season by crushing a very good Houston team and absolutely blitzing Gonzaga.

what point are you trying to make?

Gonzaga is 0-8 against #1 seeds. Mid majors just shut up.

Seems like most people don't ever want mid majors to win the big one.

Power conference bias is real in college football AND basketball

That Baylor was great for this one season from a somewhat top heavy and watered down Big 12. Plus, are we SURE Houston was that good considering they played nothing but double digit seeds in their region?

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with fans rooting for their favorite conferences and teams. The Big Boys usually win and that creates an accurate bias based on reality. Gonzaga is 0-8 all time vs #1 seeds. Mid majors just shut up.
