Alexander Gordin with his 1st of the season in the MHL (juniors), backhander.




He's changed to #7 now, was listed as the 2nd line RW. Watched a little of the game, looks the same to me but I was bored as it was mostly 1-0 until later in the 3rd so I didn't see much.

Looks like Gordin is starting the year in the MHL. The Russian junior league started today and Gordin was in the line-up for SKA-1946.

He had a goal in a 3-1 win.

Both of his assists were pretty sweet ! He seems quite comfortable manning the point on the powerplay, on both scoring plays he made a nice, quick read and got the puck exactly where it needed to go.

Here is a good report (in French) of the Kostenko first game. He played on the first pairing for a TOI of 19:41, including major minutes on both PP and PK. Showed some real offensive potential but has much work on his overall game.
The author hopes that Kostenko plays this entire season in the VHL as this kind of usage will greatly benefit his development. I don't disagree but some games in the KHL while most at the VHL level could also benefit the development. Romanov playing limited minutes for CSKA did not progress him as fast as it could've.

Tomorrow is the start of the SHL season, where Norlinder will play for Frolunda before making his way to Montreal for Rookie Camp. It is also the first game for Timra, where Olofsson has been practicing on the 4th line, but has also been put on one of the PP units:

There are also two preseason games in the Q involving Habs prospects.

Acadie-Bathurst takes on Charlottetown @ 6PM ET.

I imagine Kidney will be in the line-up for AB, while Charlottetown has Simoneau and Trudeau. Will update when the line-ups are out.

Also, there is Sherbrooke vs. Gatineau @ 7pM ET. I would think Joshua Roy will be in the line-up for Sherbrooke.

KalPa lost 2-1 in the shootout.

Kapanen ended the game with 0 pts / - 1 / 66.7% FOW (3 face-offs) / 7:11 TOI

He also missed on his penalty shot during the shootout.

Simoneau is #81 and Trudeau is #2 in black.

It is 4-0 for Charlottetown after 1 period.

Trudeau and Simoneau each have an assist so far.

Now it's 4-2 midway through the 2nd period.

He will get more playing time if he deserves it and he probably will. Today he didn't look like a kid who was playing his first Liiga game, I think he was very solid at both ends, but needs to get quicker. Probably first Kapanen with that problem.
