Apparently Real Madrid tried to sign Harvey Elliott, they gave him a tour of the Bernabeu and offered to have him meet Sergio Ramos. Elliott refused to meet with Ramos because he didn't like him after what he did to Salah in the previous year's CL final.

No... not even close... and I absolutely love Ronaldinho. Injuries truly prevented Ronaldo to be in contention as the GOAT
And that's why he's a better player. It doesn't matter what Ronaldo did because he never really played consistently enough to become anywhere close to a GOAT player. Ronaldinho was at his level and actually played, thus why he's the better player.

Ronaldo pre injuries was unstopable and won the ballon d'or before he was 21 and a world cup (as a substitute I know... but still at 17 years old)
By age 22 he already had been transfered twice both at record fees (only one to do that other than Maradona) he was the best player that Maldini ever faced (his own words) and he only played one healthy season with Inter.... then the nightmare... freak injuries after freak injuries almost 3 years out of football at his peak.. Still comeback and win the world cup with brazil in 2002, best scorer and another ballon d'or. Sold to Real Madrid and even though he is a shadow of his former self (lost at his pace, movement) still manage to be a world class striker for 3 seasons before getting out of shape.

Clearly if not of injuries I could have seen win 2 or 3 more ballon d'or and not fade away like he did later in his career.

For the record Ronaldinho won only 1 ballon d'or and never had the injury record of Il fenomeno.

He was a consistently world class player for about a decade, and his peak lasted longer than Ronaldinho's, he had five podium finishes for Player of the Year across a seven year span. Even when he was old and fat he was still a dangerous player, likely better than Ronaldinho when he fell off. Yet here you refer to him as if he was merely some 'could-have-been' and didn't have a wildly successful career. Won FIFA Player of the Year three times, was the highest-scoring player in World Cup history at one point, widely regarded as the best striker of his generation etc. yet supposedly not anywhere close to a 'GOAT' player? Laughable post. More than qualifies in terms of both ability and achievement.

Simon Johnson reporting that Chelsea will make 2 marquee signings and possibly some lesser signings. Targets named are Sancho, Havertz, Werner, and Dembele (Lyon). At LB Chilwell is the top target, with Telles and Tagliafico as the others. Adding one of the big attackers with Ziyech and a healthy RLC would be a big upgrade for next season.

Matt Law reported that Chelsea are going to try and get Werner, so we'll see if he's set for Liverpool next summer or not.

How can they afford that?

Hazard and Morata money. They have a bunch of money coming in from the loan army. Boga and Pasalic basically pay for Tagalifico/Telles. There will be some fringe players sold off, and we have some big wage earners leaving, Willian and Pedro. The rumors in January was we had 100+M to spend, and we didn't buy anyone.

But everyone lost a shit ton of money and so won’t be buying many if any players.

You’re expecting to get money from your fringe players and loan army. No ones going to pay anything worthwhile for them.
We already got the money for Boga and Pasalic, Hazard and Morata as well. Money was already available in January and not used. The war chest is already there, everything else is just gravy. Selling fringe players for 10ish was never going to be the make or break for raising funds, the bulk of the funds are already there.

New Castle going on Jonathan David with a 35 million pound bid. Personally I would rather see him go to the BuLi.

How much of that did they have to use to pay salaries and things like that because they didn't make money from the games? Also I could be entirely wrong about this but wasn't there a clause in the TV deal for the PL where if all the games weren't played/televised then they wouldn't pay at all?

I'm not going to debate if the money actually exists or not. One of the trusted Chelsea journalists/sources is reporting this is their plan, so not sure why it would be their plan if they have no means of accomplishing it.

Why does this matter to Chelsea? Every club is in the same boat. Why would Chelsea not be able to finance a transfer but United or City say could?

Because Chelsea doesn't have nearly as much coming in. Great they had a few players leave for high fees in Morata and Hazard. They also bought Ziyech and Kovacic and a few seasons ago they bought Pulisic, Kepa, and Jorginho for over 150M. It's not like they haven't spent a ton of money in the last few seasons. United and City are horrible examples because they have so much money already and are probably two members of the top 5 in richest clubs and two members of the clubs that have the highest revenue.

Bouhafsi reporting City is interested in Bennacer and that he and Pep talked

Bouhafsi is hit and miss but Fabrizio Romano retweeted it so it must be legit
