I think your underselling Drysdale's ability to be a 2-way Dman.

Drysdale is the undisputed top Dman in this draft. All the scouting reports say he is a strong 2 way player. If Sens get him and AL they are in great shape.

I know. I know. I know.. but if he has the same/similar drive, IQ and ability to adapt as Crosby, Mackinnon etc. then why wouldn't we at least try him out at C once you've drafted him.

He's looking like the real deal complete package/no clear weakness type player. I think if you can find a way to try him between Tkachuk - Laf - Batherson, its worth exploring.

He could step in there but he is who he is on the wing and I like who he is

My biggest question is would Lafreniere be able to transition to play C at the NHL level? Is it totally out of the question?

I see him being good/smart enough to switch his game over.

I hope the Senators get two top 5 picks, taking Lafreniere at #1 as a LW and then Byfield or Stutzle to be a first line center, which this team greatly needs. However, I would not be disappointed if Raymond or Drysdale were the second top 5 pick along with Lafreniere. However, that would be a best case scenario. Hoping for the best.

Lafreniere from the wing would help tremendously Brown and Batherson reach their ceilings. Those guys have the talent but playing with an elite player that can make others around better should do the trick. in the same way Stone was

Chicago doesn't complain about Patty Kane being a winger.
Toronto...other than the Zamboni game...doesn't complain about Marner being a winger.
Ottawa and Vegas haven't complained about Stone being a winger.

Some wingers control the play of their line the way a centre normally does. If Lafreniere is going to be that type of player, then put him in the position where he's most comfortable and can play his best hockey.
