The thought of finding one winger this draft for Nico or Jack is exciting but the possibility of adding 2 dynamic wingers to compliment those two within the same 1st round is just amazing.
Agreed. It looks like a deep top 5 forward group. If somehow we get one of the top 5 forwards and then someone slides to 10, we could have our top 6 set with elite talent.

My updated preferences after the Big 3 (Laf, Byfield, Stutzle)

1. Raymond
2. Drysdale
3. Rossi

We're hopefully going to get one of those guys and that is exciting to think about. Unless they completely go off the board.

I'm starting to hop back on to the Raymond bandwagon again. I was super high on him coming into the year, somewhat cooled, now coming back around lol

I’m beginning to think the talk about the draft and the lotto from a week 10 days ago was just a false leaked info to give hockey people something to talk about. To go from all that chatter to nothing?

Competition committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday.

After all the pushback on the lotto I wouldn’t be surprised if the league wants a decision on how the season will resume, i.e. 20 or 24 playoff teams, which will then allow the league to hold a full lottery.

It certainly wasn’t a false leak as people were commenting on it non-anonymously so it’s was for real discussed.

Made a Tim Stutzle hype reel - thought you guys might enjoy :)

If there's another player you'd like covered let me know!

Great job!

I’d say one of Holtz, Raymond, Drysdale, Rossi and Perfetti will be your usual suspects around here since we’ll be drafting at least one of them with our own pick.

From a positional need perspective NJ will look at:
RHD
RW/Sniper
Goalie

So filling these needs with BPA at the our draft slots is the ideal:
Own pick: Drysdale, Holtz, Raymond
Ari pick: Holtz (one can dream), Quinn, Perfetti
Van pick: Wild guess, who could be available here. G: Askarov; D: Grans, Schneider; F: Amirov; Holloway, Mercer

This is an interesting draft, players who were a little weak on the puck and lacked explosivness (Perfetti) is getting an obscene among of time in a draft year to better prepare himself for an NHL season. I wonder if NHL will allow player zoom combines of some sort to get a general idea of fitness leading up to the draft. Even some of the football tests would be great indicators of skating. 40, 3 cone and standing long jump and vertical jump.

Depending on how the lottery is done, the Devils could end up "winning it" and selecting Byfield at #2. lol

Sure that’s your opinion but you may look very silly if Sanderson becomes a top pairing D or maybe even a #1 D like many experts think he has the potential to be.
Everybody had Yakapov top 3. Hindsight is 2020 but anyone who had him in the first round now looks silly.

There is no denying the skill Sutzle has. The only thing I really disliked is that he was 100% pass-first, no exaggeration. It's hard to see this kind of stuff in highlight videos and granted my only viewing of him was at the u20s. It could be that he was by far the youngest player there so he felt hesitant to score himself, who knows.

I like all your picks, however, I believe Holloway will be a big bodied exceptional NHL player. He’s someone I would consider with the 10th pick.

I love reading things like this and wonder if he’s being honest about it. Could be as he told it and maybe yakapov didn’t want to play for the leafs can’t say I blame him there. Also I wonder if he would’ve busted if the oilers didn’t draft him. Just crazy that the talent doesn’t translate to the pros and that goes for any sport at #1.

looking at that list in the story none of the top 5 picks were really first pick worthy.

lol imagine if a draft like this happened:

that’s why I thought it was stupid going back to the old system. It’s been a long crap year we earned the right to get the 1 pick just as much as any other team

Is he a Devils fan by any chance? That’s THE best case scenario if I ever saw one!
nah I don't think he is a devils fan. I just found this because I was looking for draft news on twitter lol.

But for some draft news:
"It’s probably more of a toss-up now whether the draft happens in June or after the season is over in the fall. Either way, sounds like we should know sometime next week."
It's always the next week lol LeBrun: Bill Daly provides update on NHL's progress toward a...
