Only players who are eligible for the 2021 Calder trophy. Calder eligibility is defined as:
- No older than 26 years old as of September 15th, 2020
- Has not played in more than 25 games in one season or more than 6 games in two consecutive seasons (making Cal Petersen, Carl Grundstrom, Sean Walker, and Matt Roy exempt)

We'll do this for as long as you all want, either you want to stop or we run out of options. As of the No 27 poll, a lot of people have suggested cutting it at 30, so there will be no more additions.

I went with Markkanen. He has a ton of potential, but is probably pretty far away from the NHL.

Juho Markkanen at eliteprospects.com
https://thehockeywriters.com/juho-markkanen-2020-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/

2019-20 Team: SaiPa Liiga
Date of Birth: April 06, 2002
Place of Birth: Edmonton, Canada
Ht: 6-foot-2 Wt: 146 lbs
Catches: Left
Position: Goalie
NHL Draft Eligibility: 2020 NHL Draft Eligible

Second generation goaltender whose father played parts of four NHL season… Is very athletic with quick reflexes. Displays good rebound control and tracks the puck nicely. Played with a weak junior team and then was elevated to the Finnish Natural team as the February Five Nations Tourney approached. He won both games he started there.
Bill Plazcek – draftsite.com

Playing three of Finland’s four games, Markkanen had the tournament’s best save percentage and goals-against average – 95.77 and 1.46, respectively.
Derek O’Brien – iihf.com

Looking overseas, I was regrettably low on Finland’s Juho Markkanen (362), who has NHL bloodlines as the son of former Oilers goaltender Jussi Markkanen. Juho is 6-foot-2 and appears promising, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he got drafted and he should have been ranked up there with Lehtinen in hindsight.

I'm very surprised that Brickley, who has the size and speed to compete at the NHL level and has actually played in a few NHL games, isn't even an option available to vote upon.

What gives?

A distinct lack of progress just might have something to do with it.

Add Boko. We're at #29 and the poor guy hasn't even gotten one mention.

He's the only guy on the list with absolutely zero chance at an NHL future. Love the dude and what he does for our kids but if he's in the NHL that team better have 25 injuries.

Debate was between Lee, Markkanen and Shafigullin for highest upside left for me. Even though it’ll be a crazy stretch if they reach that upside. Went Marrkanen.

Of who’s left only Markkanen has NHL potential IMO. Outside chance Lee or Doyle get a few NHL games eventually.

Not picking on you 1% , but this post made me think of something from a post the other day.

I don't know if there were voted on or if they were the solely opinions of the writer but look at this in hindsight

With the exception of Drew, which was obvious, this list is ass backwards

That's an amazing list. The fact that more than half of the 20 prospects had solid to very good careers is testament to the attention DL on down paid to drafting and developing players.

Indeed

but it also shows how hard these are to predict and how much of a factor development is

Imo shows how amazing our development is at cranking out average to above average NHLers

Hopefully the difference between this era and last is doing more with our high/bluechip skill picks
