Roy and Lizotte were a nice surprise last season. Looks like Hults will be making a big jump in the rankings even though the pool got that much deeper.

But to be fair that was right after 2 Cups. And all things considered, that's a pretty decent pool after giving up so many assets. Kempe is a contributor in a middle six capacity, which is what you want towards the end of the 1st; Amadio is a little stagnant but a good 3rd round pick, he's an NHLer at least; Clague, jury's out but promising; and Wagner is widely loved in his role. Beyond that, Dowd and Cernak have Cups with other teams since. Mersch, Gravel, and LaDue are the only ones that didn't pan out (we'll see if LaDue can do anything in Washington) and Brodz frankly I never saw anything but a tweener in--and those were 4th, 5th, 6th, and 5th round picks, which tells you 'why' about that pool pretty quickly.

Agree. Kempe is the only 1st round pick in that list and he was #30 overall.

Dowd missed the cup while he was in Vancouver. Otherwise I would agree that he could be a decent depth forward on a cup team.
