Just noticed the crazy jump Blackwood made over the years. From 12th in 2018, to 4th in 2019 to our starting goalie now and in the future. Fun to look back at these.

Voted Clarke here, add Studenic

What amazes me is that we've gone thru 15 rounds and we (at least in my mind) still haven't hit the range of players whose upside is "just make the NHL". I have hopes that every player we've selected so far will be at least a tier above, in the "I hope he's an NHL regular" group.

Voted Clarke (sorry lil’ Grits) and going to say add Pasic just to be annoying.

Hoe much have you watched him play? I know STI likes his potential but as a defensive defender stats aren’t going to tell the story. I am reluctant to form too much of an opinion based on the odd stray comment or two.
Only what's rarely been on TV and other than that just reading.

What has he looked like when you’ve watched him? That’s how I usually get an idea about a prospect. I’m old enough the eye test still works for me. I know some folks are comfortable with relying on advanced stats but for me they are second to actually watching the player.

He looks like a guy who maxes out as a middle pairing defenseman who isn't going to put up a ton of points but won't be a grenade handler while shutting down the opposition. He's physical, but not the kind that's going to murder people, just you'd want to pay attention if you're on the ice at the same time as him.

That's pretty good in theory. On the main board thread on the US WJC team some folks have said very negative things about him so it's good to get a non-knee jerk review of him. It's tough to fairly evaluate young players.

Where'd you see that? I don't venture over there too much.

Clarke add Jacobs.

Invited to Canada WJC camp but 15th best prospect in the Devils system?

Either the system is loaded or this is a big miss.

It is mostly because he was out most of last season with injuries so he fell plus other new prospects and risers. I still really like him a lot and he has an amazing shot, but due to what stated above I have him lower on the list.

These polls are pretty reflective of why Pronman loves our prospects pool - the depth. We might not have the blue chippers some teams have but we have an abundance of high end talent that no one else in the NHL can match.
