Without really knowing much about the new guys, I'm curious why you value Uens higher than our earlier picks (Smilanic, Sourdif, Heineman, Benning)? Did you watch him play last year?

No, I have not seen him play. Just a hunch that he's going to be really good. I'm really liking everything I've heard about the guy. Other than Heineman, most guys are drafted around his spot.

From what I read, he actually reminds me a lot about my cousin, Mason Millman. Roughly the same size, same kind of game description as a defenseman.
I'm hoping that we lucked out and got a good one late.

I forget, how deep do the prospects get ranked?
I am currently working on my tier 4 list, but my knowledge is getting pretty slim.

I just did a half-assed research on defensemen and goalies this morning in the system, and other than Uens who isn't on the list, I sure do like Rauhauser.

Depends how much interest there is (in past years after #20 there's maybe a dozen people left voting) and how far we get before the season begins.

Had to go Luostarinen again, he's in the trio tie with Saarela and Borgstrom for me right now.

Really think both Luostar and Saarela will play at least 2-3 years in FLA and it's a toss up for me because Saarela's ceiling is a 2nd line winger but more of a confirmation he can be a 3rd line guy.

Luostar's ceiling being a solid 3C but may fit/settle in as a 4C if offense isn't as consistent in NHL.

Borgstrom is 3rd in the tie only because he did play some NHL games before and still feel he can be a 3rd line winger at worst if he comes over again.

I have Saarela higher on my list than the other two, but behind Noel. I think Noel can be a very impactful player. I've seen them with my own eyes, and the guy comes to play When the games mean the most. Kind of a hard player to get a read on because of this. When I saw him at the Russìa-OHL showcase game, he was the most dominant player on the ice.

I posted this just before Saarela sniped, maybe him and Lundell can find some chemistry, put Horny as their RW to add some grit/net presence/veteran leadership.

Noel is 3rd tier for me since he hasn't played any pro hockey and coming off a slight decline in production in what should be his strongest year in the OHL, 4th and final year.
He can rise up to 2nd tier with a good AHL showing this year.

2021-22:

Huberdeau - Barkov - Deni/Tippett
Saarela - Lundell - Horny
Vatrano - Wennberg/Hino - Tippett/Deni
Lomberg - Verhag - Acciari

Connolly taken by SEA.

Voted Saarela...

Think Borgstrom, Luo and Priskie are in that same-tier with Gildon... Still can't believe Stillman made our top-5 because of two opinions in the thread... It's not even funny.

Add Puutio.

Eh I don’t necessarily consider Saarela a prospect so I struggle with ranking him.

I do think Luo is likely to be a good 3-4 center and I’m happy about that. Saarela is either a 2W or bust.

My worry with Noel is injuries: I think he will make it to the show for his physical abilities but he already signals a lack of durability...

I’m pretty high on Priskie actually: he has high end on offensive ability and is slightly blocked but I think he is likely to make an impact as a 4-5...

It's funny that you just demeaned and insulted almost everyone on this board and don't even realize it.

So a guy that will only show up in contract years :(

Yeah exactly

You just called almost everyone on this board sheep instead of acknowledging that they all have their own opinions.

Yeaaaaaah... Hum... Atleast if you go by that logic, get the numbers right...

9 voters for Stillman in #5 thread, on 39 total... 2 or 3 who voiced their opinions about him being worthy maybe, I didn’t go through the whole thread, so that means I insulted 6 members roughly...

Don’t try and pick a fight, I was only stating that I still don’t understand the Stillman pick... I just wouldn’t even have him at 8.

Stop it.

Why does an opinion have to be voiced for a vote to count?

Saarela takes the number eight spot.

Ya'll should be voting more for the next player, with only two votes (for seperate players) I went with the highest rated player still left from last year, Hepo.
