That Baerstchi rumour just says the contacted his agent as he is very likely to play in the AHL this season to finish his contract. I assume they are contacting him for next season as it goes on to say he will be unlikely to get another NHL contract.

Since he's already 26, he's not really a prospect but he sure has battled to get that NHL deal. A 2014 NHL draft pick of the Sabres, he went unsigned after completing his college career and signed an ECHL deal with Reading, got that upgraded to an AHL deal and finally an NHL deal after putting up 8 points in 11 games this AHL season
