Going to have a close look at Mysak at the WJC, skating clearly elite, but not sure about his instincts yet...

Expecting Stutzle to make some big noise, kid is amazing... The favorites will have to respect that German team this year, cause thats easily the best team they ever dressed on paper with guys like Stutzle, Seider, Bokk and their solid goaltender...

This has to be the best draft for Canada in a long time. Better than the McDavid draft in terms of depth

10 points in 16 games in the playoffs.

67 points in 71 games on the year.

Playoffs production is usually not included when talking about a player's ppg ratio.

Even then, saying one of the reason he wasn't drafted was because he was not a ppg with 67 points in 71 games playoffs included is stretching it. That's 0.94ppg in his draft year.

You sure you were not referring to the year prior?

No. His global production in a weaker league like the Q was concerning in itself. Add the fact he'd be one of the smallest player drafted, and then you get why teams were reluctant to draft him.

He was a high draft pick in the Q, but did not deliver until this year. Like I said, its obvious he's really talented. He was quite hyped in the minors... But I'm far from surprised he was not drafted.

Wish him the best, though. Quite a few undersized Q players were able to carve professional careers after being ignored in their draft years recently (Garland, Barre-Boulet...). We'll see!

The Q being a weaker league is up to debate.

Also have to consider he was playing on the Voltigeur's 2nd line and produced over a ppg in the regular season. I'd say he delivered.

As of right now, the Habs have 8 picks in the Top 115 with a chance of having 7 of those picks in the Top 100 or 105. Anaheim and San Jose having horrible years will help those 4th rounders be somewhat high.

The Senators should be in a position to make two early picks, with their own pick and the first round pick they obtained in the Erik Karlsson deal... that will undoubtedly strengthen their roster.

Didn't know that Elmer Benning's grandson was a top prospect for this draft, he's committed to Denver which of course is one of the top programs in the NCAA, would be kind of neat if they drafted him assuming he's worth it. Not to beat a dead horse but that certainly would be a better way to honor him although if he's good they might have a tough time picking him.

Keep losing Chicago!! Would love to be drafting between 32-35. We can get a 1st round faller at those spots. Would have loved to pick up a Brink, Kaliyev or Pinto level prospect in the last draft.
Wouldn't bet on our team drafting players like that. We are likely drafting players projected to go like 3 rounds later or trading down just to pick up a 5th.

Benning is one of my favourite prospects this year. Poised with the puck and has a ton of jam to his game. Massive upside as a Krug-type D

Team Russia is playing team Canada East in the WJAC final right now on RDS2. Russia is dominating. Draft eligibles Paschiin, Ponomarev and Gushev are showing off their skills against a weaker team.
