The South division is insanely close going into the final stretch with 4 teams still in contention for the last two spots. GRN, ATL, ORL, and JAX all sit within 8 points of each other with many 4 point games left to play. Atlanta plays in Greenville three times in the next week which will be huge in deciding whether or not either team can pull away from the rest. Also Atlanta plays JAX 4 more times this season. I think this is the big race to watch going down the stretch with two of the other three divisions all but locked up.

You can thank the Stingrays & Everblades for that tight grouping. Their 92 points each tends to push the rest of the teams into a logjam far below.

The other division with some playoff placement drama ahead seems to be the Mountain. Allen has a comfortable hold on 1st place, but Idaho & Utah are neck-and-neck for the second home ice advantage spot. Meanwhile Tulsa & Rapid City are just 2 points apart for the 4th playoff ticket, carrying with them the hopes of us former CHL fans.
