lol there's about 40 guys that I want in this draft so I don't think there's gonna be a trio where I'm unhappy with what we do, should we get all three picks.

My ideal draft, however, is Sanderson/Drysdale, Quinn/Mercer and then Amirov/Mysak/Jarvis

I couldn't agree with you more.

Mysak has been severely overlooked, as has Martin Chromiak. It's weird how Czech and Slovak prospects are routinely ranked below Scandinavian prospects these days, purely on the basis of regional bias. Both of these kids came over from Europe midway through the season and absolutely tore up the CHL in limited auditions, but people are leaving them out of their top 50 prospects entirely in lieu of very problematic prospects like Nybeck and Simontaival.

I'll say it again. I have Raymond ranked #9 overall, but if we get him at #7 I'll be overjoyed. All of these players are outstanding, and fill Devils needs. Does Holtz offer the dynamic, dominant ability of these other players? No, but he can be a perennial 40+ goal guy, so I'd be happy with him, too. The Devils will get a future franchise cornerstone at #7, and we should keep open minds that it might not be the guy we like the best.

If Perfetti was available at 7 (along with Rossi), I actually wouldn't have any issue selecting him.

It’s pretty clear that any consensus top 8 player is a good pick at 7 based on your evaluation STI. I hope the player(s) NJ favors fall to that pick so the team gets who it wants. I agree it’s hard to project three or four years into the future to see what style of player might be the best fit at that time.

I think the amazing thing to me is that a premier prospect will be available at the VAN pick assuming it falls no lower than the early 20’s. From Amirov to the two Germans to some of the second tier defenders it’s a good year to hopefully have three first rounders. As long as NJ gets multiple needle moving players they come out winners regardless of position. I’m looking forward to catching up about the centers. Something tells me that we will look back in future years and find some good NHL wings that come out of the center group.
