Plus according to this tweet form Greg Wyshynski, we will see Gary Bettman pull the winning teams ball live and it won't be done behind closed doors.

Trade Nylander and Johnsson for cap space or dman. Lafreniere is going to be a star. That would change your team for the better. The best scenario would be to get Pietrangelo but I think a change of scenery from Andersen might be best for both parties as well. Sign Lehner. I could see Calgary looking at Andersen and Nylander. Not sure what they could offer back to make things work value wise and cap wise. Anyways shitty luck for you guys today but maybe it turns around tomorrow.

Obviously things have changed significantly with a team now winning the right to draft first overall after just having come off of a fair opportunity to compete for the Cup. Hope we win. It would be the Leafs thing to see them get eliminated one night and almost 24 hours later seeing them win the 1st overall pick. The year 2020 has already been crazy, so why not add to it with Toronto getting Lafreniere when none of us thought that would possibly happen all season.

Pretty much 100% guaranteed that the Leafs will trade Marner or Nylander if they get Lafreniere. They can trade either and still be nasty up front.

Let's say we pull out the miracle win, I load up the top 6 for the next 3 years with:

Lafrieniere-Matthews-Marner
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander

Then completely re-vamp the bottom 6 using Hyman (1 year until FA), Kerfoot, Johnsson,Kapanen,Mikheyev (rights) and target a bunch of Warren Foegele types to fill in the roster with cheap lunchbox players

Use the cap space to still tareget Pietrangelo or a similar RHD.

No Lou gave Marleau a third year at 6 million, we couldn't afford to pay are core players and have a bottom six winger, make that much.

Dubas, the wonder kid. Why oh why didn't you just keep Marleau and told the kids that they need to take less as simply no other moves are possible.

Marner on a bridge at Nylander money and bam, problem nearly solved. No need to trade a first to dump a player in a year we didn't make the playoffs with the deepest draft in years.

Why oh why did we get so unlucky with this GM. We could be champs if we had a competent GM. He has ruined our present and future.

Dubas is so awful that it makes me wonder whether it's possible that he works for the league, and was sent to destroy the Leafs from the inside. That's how bad he is.

The Leafs got lucky enough with Matthews and Marner. The fact that they haven't done anything with it is their own doing.

They don't deserve the 1st overall nor will they get it.

This is simply incorrect. There are better ways to address this problem than to trade a first. And if you do trade that 1st, you need to be absolutely sure the playoffs are a certainty. Otherwise you keep it and find a way.

Incorrect. Bettman prefers the Leafs always lose since they are a saturated market. They are a sure thing, win or lose. Like a smart businessman, he sees the big picture and prefers expanding in untapped markets rather than making a quick buck.

This is why the league is so anti-Leafs. This is even why I have thoughts that Dubas could be an employee of the league sent to damage the Leafs chances of winning. That's just how awful Dubas is.
