How did it work out for you in the end?

It was a duo in one pool and we ended up 5th so it helped but not enough.

Looking back that 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Russia was the best thing that could have happened to us. It forced our hand in settling on Hofer or at least giving him the real shot at proving he could be the guy and it embarrassed the team and made them sharpen their focus on getting better while also injecting us with a chip on our shoulder to right the wrong, which is always a good thing for our teams.

I’m honestly more than a little worried that we’re going to be missing such a game next year given the composition of the groups. We better hope that Finland and Germany give us their absolute best effort.
