Idea for continuation: Roster freeze ---> Standings determined via vote --> 2021 trade deadline --> Standings vote again, this time to determine playoff teams and winners --> Seattle expansion draft

Too much?
I would be down to participate, not so down to host it lol

Brad Marchand ($6,125,000) - Patrice Bergeron ($6,875,000) - David Pastrnak ($6,666,666)
Alex Galchenyuk ($3,000,000) - Anze Kopitar ($5,000,000) - Charlie Coyle ($5,250,000)
Nick Ritchie ($1,498,925) - David Krejci ($7,250,000) - Ondrej Kase ($2,600,000)
Tyson Jost ($1,250,000) - Jumbo Joe Thornton ($1,900,000) - Chris Wagner ($1,350,000)

Zdeno Chara ($1,500,000) - Charlie McAvoy ($4,900,000)
Torey Krug ($6,850,000) - Dustin Byfuglien ($3,000,000)
Matt Grzelcyk ($1,600,000) - Connor "Cliffy Hockey" Clifton ($1,000,000)

Tuuka Rask ($7,000,000)
Jaroslav Halak ($2,750,000)
ANZE KOPITAR

We added Anze freaking Kopitar! At 50%! We effectively busted open our contender window wide open and shut everyone else's window closed.

CHARA & KRUG RE-SIGN

We kept the Captain in the fold for another season, as long as he wants, and made Krug a Bruin for life at caphits reflective of the Bruin's buy-in Championship culture.

THE PRODIGAL SON RETURNS

Jumbo Joe Thornton comes full circle and returns to the team that drafted him in search of a Stanley. Jumbo Joe brings inspiration and drive for a Bruins squad that's been there before. I'm very excited about Thornton taking Jost under his wing and awakening the inner goal scorer that advanced stats and the junior career predict.

BIG BAD BREWING

Dusty Byfuglien is a figurative bear on skates, this was literally a no brainer. Last we saw Dusty he was an impact player that brought the pain every game. With the new CBA rules, he's a 35+ year contract so if he decides to hang them up next offseason, his caphit won't remain.

POURING GASOLINE ON HABS & BRUINS

Bruins signed former Hab Alex Galchenyuk, who is eager to get on the other side of the Boston/Montreal rivalry. Sources say PK Subban spurred advances from Bruins management. Poor decision PK.

TOP PROSPECTS

Jack, Jack, Jakub, Jakub-Forsbacka, Jeremy, Jack, Jack... and Trent.

Thanks @Eich Jackel for hosting a great mock! Maybe next time I'll even show up to the first 5 rounds of the draft.

HERE is the link to all the signings so far - as well as further links to all the UFAs still available!

There are still some really good names out there!
Like, Idk if Eich is playing hard ball as the agent for Holtby, but shocked he hasn't signed!

And if this dies off with noone signing Uncle Leo, I will be sad :(

LHD Nathan Beaulieu

NYI MEDIA PRESS RELEASE

NYI.com-

"It's been a truly eventful week of drafting and free agency, the kind of which I haven't had since my free-wheeling days back in the 80s," pointed out exhausted Islander GM Lou Lamoriello. "We're closing up our planning until camp starts with the addition of Carl up front and Nathan on the blueline. Carl is just the kind of net-crashing young man we want to see next to the likes of Brock and JG in the upcoming seasons. We were very confident in his abilities when I drafted him with Toronto and feel he's at that point in his young career where we're going to see just what he's capable of. Beaulieu is a former first round draft pick who needed time, like so many defensemen, to turn into the type of player you can trust in your end of the ice. It has meant filing down on the offensive contribution he was once thought to be capable of, but he's at that point where he can offer our younger defenseman a good bit of support."

"In general, the cap realities have forced my hand and we've lost a lot of what has made us successful in recent years in just a short period of time. A ton of character, the kind you can go to war with come hell or highwater, has departed the franchise and coach Barry Trotz will join up with a team that he'll need to form into a winner, practically from scratch."

"As for the young men we drafted, the staff is very confident that we've added a number of surefire future NHLers of one sort or another, granted health be on their side. There's always going to be risk involved, especially when your first pick is in the third round, but I really like knowing we've added five soon-to-be collegians and three very talented Russians who clearly want to have a career of impact at the NHL level. You know, I've never been one to shy away from investing in a Russian I believe in. Now it's time for everyone in the organization to roll up their sleeves and get to work on the next season."
