MIKE HOFFMAN UFA SIGNING

17-B0657-A-DADF-45-AA-975-C-A74859-A3-E163.jpg

NYI PRESS RELEASE

NYI Homepage, Long Island, NY-

"Our fans have been hungry. We've long needed someone who could put the puck in the net. We've most especially needed someone who can do just that from the right circle on the PP. Mike Hoffman is that man - and now we've got him," stated exuberant Islander GM Lou Lamoriello. "We've moved a lot of good players and lot of our heart 'n soul the last little while, because none of them could do what we're bringing Mike in to do. It's now up to Mike and our coaching staff to make the most of his unique arsenal of offensive talents. We're looking forward to seeing a lot of unhappy opposition goaltenders in Brooklyn next season, Henrik Lundqvist hopefully being one of them."

PONTUS ABERG UFA SIGNING

NYI PRESS RELEASE

NYI Homepage, Long Island, NY-

"I bet few in North America know this, but Pontus' last name is pronounced 'O-Berry'. That's a true story," told lingually astute Islander GM Lou Lamoriello. "This is a young man who has a lot of hockey in the tank, but whose game still needs a bit of rounding out. Still, he knows where the net is. We've got a bit of opportunity here. It's now up to him to make use of it and force the coaching staff's hand."

:kings Signs Jake DeBrusk to a $3.35 million x 2 year deal.

That means one of Jeff Carter or Dustin Brown could be had for a 2021 2nd or equivalent prospect. PM me!

MULTIPLE UFA ORGANIZATIONAL SIGNINGS

NYI PRESS RELEASE

NYI Homepage, Long Island, NY-

SIGNING ALERT

:isles
G Keith Kinkaid
2 years, $800K AAV

Lou Lamoriello: "Keith is a former Devil. I really shouldn't have to say more than that. Of course, it helps that he's one of Stan Fischler's absolute favorite interviews. Always a good sign. But more importantly, he wants a new lease on life and sees the opportunity for just that right here. We'd like him to succeed in grabbing it."

LHD Andreas Borgman
1 year, $750K

Lamoriello: "Andreas is a steady hockey player who we targeted as a European free agent a few years back with the Maple Leafs. He brings a lot of things to the table that can help our organization, whether he's adding depth at the NHL level or challenging our kids at the AHL level. He's not shy of the rough stuff, either."

LHD Cameron Gaunce
1 year, $750K

Lamoriello: "After the loss of all 3 of our top lefty-shot offensive blueliners, Cameron is here to offer our organization someone who can run a power play. We're going to take a good, long look at him in camp."

C Andreas Wingerli
2 year ELC

Lamoriello: "Andreas is a kid who the scouting community has had in the back of its notebook for a good long while now, but hasn't wanted to touch with a ten foot pole due to his size. He nonetheless comes from one of the premiere hockey factories in Sweden and has been playing at a high level in the SHL for several seasons now. This past season he turned into one of his team's key offensive drivers and convinced our scouts that he simply 'gets it'. He's coming over for camp and we're hoping he'll make it very difficult for us to loan him back out to Skelleftea, which would nonetheless be a continued positive spot in his trajectory."

Bridgeport signs Dominik Masin, Sheldon Rempal, Allan McShane, and Samuel Houde to AHL contracts.

Lamoriello: "Despite a bevy of prospects who'll be able to hone their craft in Bridgeport this season, my son Chris has added some support in the form of two young men who still have NHL dreams and two other young players who are joining the pro ranks for the first time. Dominik and Sheldon understand the AHL game very well and will lend support to our very young cast. Allan and Samuel will be looking to do whatever is necessary, including stints in the ECHL, in order to gain the experience they need to take the next step. All have an opportunity to gain an NHL contract via their performance on the farm and this is the reward Houde and McShane get for having been two of roughly 10 centers Montreal drafted in their 'positional need is greater than BPA' draft of 2018."

We've brought back both of Kovalchuk and Henrique. The Devils roster is looking very promising.

Nikita Gusev - Nico Hischier - Kyle Palmieri
Ondrej Palat - Adam Henrique - Ilya Kovalchuk
Tim Stutzle
- Jack Hughes - Paul Byron
Miles Wood - Travis Zajac - Joey Anderson

Josh Manson - Damon Severson
Nick Leddy - Chris Tanev
Ty Smith - Connor Carick

Mackenzie Blackwood
Laurent Brossoit

New acquisitions in red. We have a solid veteran second line, and an electric 3rd line. With Stutzle, Hughes, Byron, and Wood, we have one of the fastest bottom-6s in the entire league. That should probably do it for us for this game, a big thanks to @Eich Jackel for running it!

Worst Case, Ontario
Idea for continuation: Roster freeze ---> Standings determined via vote --> 2021 trade deadline --> Standings vote again, this time to determine playoff teams and winners --> Seattle expansion draft

Too much?
