So if Byron clears which he most likely will he can be sent to the taxi squad. How much does this help our cap ? Mousser?

1.075 million.
NHL CBA FAQ - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps
What is a Buried Contract?
Teams do not receive full cap relief when a player on a one-way NHL contract is reassigned to the American Hockey League, or is loaned to a team in another professional league.
The players salary cap hit, minus the sum of the minimum NHL salary for the respective season and $375,000, still counts towards the team’s salary cap total.
The cap hit relief is therefore equal to the minimum salary of the respective season + $375,000:
  • 2020-21: $700,000 + $375,000 = $1,075,000

Is Ottawa in a position to claim the home town boy Byron? It seems he'd be a pretty good add to a team filled with young players.

Byron is one of the fastest player in the league, easely. Excellent on the PK. Can put 10 goals per year.

But 3.4M a year is way too much. Love Byron, but would love him even more at 2M a year.

He is absolutly a NHL player tho and would be playing on almost any team's line-up right now.

Apparently Lindholm's waivers are unconditional for mutual termination (going to SHL)

I saw that too, but no official source confirmed that the waivers is unconditional and capfriendly list that like a regular waivers. Maybe later this week he will be put on unconditional but I don't think that yesterday's one was un unconditional.

Was even checking his salary it’s greater next year then his hit weirdly enough

Lots of players negotiated 2020-21 salaries that were lower then their contract average. The reason being there was a possibility that the CBA could terminate in 2020 and the 2020-21 season might be delayed if the parties couldn't negotiate a new CBA on time. Similar situation for 2022 and the 2022-23 season, which was the 2nd date the CBA could terminate.

If Byron stays on the taxi squad do the Habs get any cap savings at all ? From what I’ve read it doesn’t seem like much
