And Iafallo has looked good playing with them. I've been critical of Alex at times, but he's proving me wrong.

Since he was moved down, they've been the best GF% line--between 57-66% for each of them. Second only in CF% to Kupari and Moore--Kupari has been an absolute animal.

The worst since Iafallo moved?

Kopitar and Kempe. No goals for. One against. 40% ish CF%.

Food for thought for those who have gone in hard on Iafallo this year.

Agree. At this point, it's about finding if players can gel with others. It seems a few can play well with any line; Iafallo and Moore.
For whatever reasons, some combos simply do not work, period. Like Vilardi / Carter.

When Lias was playing those early games with Wagner, Luff, whomever, there was no chemistry either. Now, Lias looks great with Vilardi and
Iafallo. Lias probably had the most touches of anyone last game. Sometimes, nothing becomes of it, but he's shown he has talent and
pretty good vision and can make plays. The Rangers tried to make him top 6 and he could not do it at 18 or 19. They then put him on line 4 and
he's more like a line 3c / 3lw. He needs to play with players that have some aptitude of ability...plus, he needed to improve his skating and while
it's nothing amazing, he's skating well and in the right places. His stint in the AHL helped him a lot. Loved that he went after the guy that hit Vilardi. 2-3 years ago the Kings had nothing to show for round 1 of the 2017 draft, with Gabe unable to heal...and now the Kings have the 7th and 11th picks from 2017 playing for them and
doing well.

The one I am worried about, when it comes to finding chemistry, is Athanasiou. He has not looked good for 2-3 weeks - on any line. Not like he was those
few weeks, where it was 'get this guy a new contract, now'. I am wondering if he will get resigned at this point. You have to see that there
are SO MANY that can take that slot: Fagemo, Kupari, Kaliyev, Thomas, etc. If you lock up AA 2 or 3 yrs, he cannot play line 4...and he could block
a better, younger player. I think I would pass on AA, perhaps. Or just offer 1 year.

I could swear Kempe set up a nice goal with Kopitar.
I was hard on Iafallo. Thought the first bit of the season he had no jump on the forecheck and thats his best attribute. Maybe it was a post covid thing if he had it.
He has looked great since the deadline and started playing well a bit before that probably around those disaster San Jose games.
I like him on the Vilardi line and want to see him next to Byfield also

I was going to mention how AI-GV-LA is actually the first line now. They look way more dangerous than the "top" line.

I think the fact that Kopitar and Kempe have looked liked crap is more so about their own play, more so than it has anything to do with Iafallo though. That's probably coincidental.

I keep saying it, I've been saying it since 2017, Kopitar is playing too much. Is time to stop using him for EVERYTHING. His energy is gone here late in the season. Even last game, in a completely meaningless affair, he played 21:24. Conversely none of the Blues forwards played more than 18 minutes.

Lets gift these 4 points to the Avalanche in the hope of pushing down Vegas to #2 so they have to deal with MN. :naughty: And get better lottery odds the same time hopefully.

Yeah I remember that Kempe assist. I think it was their first game after the line changes.

I agree, wasn't so much suggesting it was a direct correlation with AI, though there's surely SOME factor there; it was more for the folks who suggested he was simply carried by Kopitar--he's done better advanced stats wise AND is scoring at a 65 pt pace with his new linemates.

Nothing good comes out of winning this game. I would rather see Colorado over Vegas move up in the standings, and there is zero point to us climbing in the standings. Colorado, just do your job and win these two games.

Hi folks,
I haven’t been able to visit as much as I wanted to due to the compressed schedule this Season.

The Avs are one of the many Teams I cheer for, but as I’ve mentioned before, I really enjoy many of you folks. I did the GDT for the Avs today and the Theme is “Hump Day Meme-o Rama.”

Please allow me to share the Memes from the GDT with the intention of giving some of you a smile or a chuckle. I’m sincerely looking forward to joining you more often next Season when the Schedule is more conducive.

Cheers

ps. Thank you @kingsboy11 for helping me improve my GDT’s this Season.
