They'd have good info on him given that Hextall is on staff, but Gostisbehere has had some struggles after having an explosive season offensively a couple of years ago. He's now 27 with three years remaining at $4.5M.

I would think they might have interest in a young, mobile defenseman like Kale Clague and probably an additional draft pick/prospect. Is it worth trading for him, or should they sign a 29-year-old Brendan Dillon to a four-year contract without giving up assets?

Part of me wants to wait to see what Kale Clague is cracked out to be in the NHL, and I also have high hopes for Mikey Anderson, Tobias Bjornfot and few other defense prospects who could be full timers over the next few seasons.

The average game on Fox Sports West pulls in about anywhere from .5-.6 on the tv ratings. Wasn't able to find a viewership number though.

If Ghost didn't have that high a contract AAV, I would entertain the idea of a reclamation project. But it's simply too much for a flat cap covid economy.

All indications are that the kings will have an internal cap for the next few years. So that means every dollar spent on a non-productive Ghost is another dollar the Kings can't spend later. Later is when it really matters with all the RFAs and any UFA the kings want to sign.

The Kings have the time to see what Clague can do. I don't want to give up on him too early like Cernak.

Carter, who was injured in February shortly before the trade deadline, had hip surgery in June and his rehabilitation is said to be on track. The long pause could end up benefitting him more than almost anyone else and a move from center to wing could enhance his productivity.

“Carter is healing well,” Blake said. “Just recently started skating on his own — we will continue to monitor him.”

Gostisbehere had a frontloaded contract so he's only due 3.25 mil in real cash for the each of the next three seasons. That might be attractive to teams who care more about the actual salary rather than the 4.5 mil cap hit. Now that they somehow unloaded Michael Matheson, I'd be curious if Gostisbehere's de facto hometown team might be interested in his services.

It will be interesting for sure but I can’t see how anyone who has spent basically 2 years away from nhl hockey could expect to come back. Opting out of next year would basically be the same as retiring for any Kings player.

I think Chara is pretty much done. He’s a physical specimen, but the speed of today’s game is too much for him.

It is probably important for teams who have not played in quite some time to know when players can start getting back on the ice for informal workouts. Players want to workout and skate with other players. At least that's my guess.

Teams can assume on-ice training with limited capacity of no more than 12 people on the ice at once, and workouts must follow social distancing guidelines, and the players will still have to go through extensive testing before and after using a training facility.

These are also voluntary, as training camp dates have not been established yet.
