Does Hellickson consider going FA with the young D depth?

What other organization would give him more of an opportunity?

Have to wonder if the Devils even offer him a contract given the depth on defense.

I would like to see the Devils sign him. Have to figure that Sissons and Quenneville are not resigned this offseason (both are RFA's) while Vukojevic would be signed an play a prominent role in Binghamton next season. There's room to add him - just a matter of whether or not it's a good fit between the player/team.

Maybe you have one defenseman graduate to the NHL next season, but you're still looking at a mix of Vukojevic, Okhotyuk, Walsh, White, Jacobs, Bahl, Groleau. Maybe Tennyson or another vet is added to the mix. Wouldn't be bad to bring Hellickson in as well.

Allegedly, Holtz is dealing with some sort of back injury. If true, that would explain the drop off in play. Hopefully the season will end for him shortly and he can get rest, treatment, and rehab.
