O'Brien ... risky pick from the beginning, not much to show for. Overall body of work since being drafted: incomplete. I can't help thinking bust. Sorry.

Without any offense, I wouldnt call his game well-rounded.

Laughton had 21 points in 71 NHL games at age 21. Rubtsov had 13 points in 42 AHL games at age 21.

At age 19, Laughton had 87 points in 54 junior games. Rubtsov had 32 points in 38 junior games.

Rubtsov does not have Laughton-like offensive upside.

Numbers don't lie but sometimes it's like comparing apples and oranges.
Rubtsov has been hurt a lot, injuries were holding him back. Many of those were freak injuries. I do actually think that he has similar offensive upside if he can ever get into a rhythm.
