Blackhawks have 17 games left
Icehogs have 13 games left
Fuel have 30 games left
WHL are playing a 24 game season

My thoughts are that starting from the bottom, Cole Moberg and Michael Krutil should either be sent down to Indy or sent to their respective WHL teams...Moberg to Prince George and Krutil to Kelowna

Mitchell Beaudin Kalynuk Regula and Phillips should team up with Cody Franson in Rockford to finish the year

Call up Carlsson and team him with Bowey as our rotating 6th dman for the remainder of the season or as I've posted before move Carlsson to Detroit for pending UFA Patrik Nemeth

Anton Lindholm could be brought up as well if needed

To me it would be great to see those five Hawks future dmen play together for those the last 13 games in Rockford

I get the whole cycling a rookie into the lineup but I think having them play together would be great for future team chemistry

Thoughts on Kalynuk so far?

what’s his upside? Strengths? Weaknesses?

think he sticks with Chicago for rest of this season ?

I would say his main strength is skating and haven't noticed a weakness yet. Plays better defensively than offensively which is opposite the other young d-men making it a relative strength. Probably more of a steady type than a high ceiling guy. Does he stick with Chicago rather than get shuffled back to Rockford? I'm going to guess no unless one of the d-men get traded at the TDL.

Rough out night for the Hawks and the Hawk rookies...

deHaan was back so Mitchell didn't dress

Hagel held out because of late COVID testing

Kalynuk injured after playing less than 2 mins

Kurashev minus one

Suter had an assist, double minor and was minus three

Lankinen yanked after giving up two quickies to start the third, five goals against in total for the loss...

On to next game...

Hagel with the OT winning goal and two assists!

I feel pretty good about my read on suter coming into the season. All I really said is he would be a solid starter in the prospects polls and even that was in doubt at the time. He’s done better than that by far

All three last night, and you could include Hino and Dach are Bowman decisions, people gotta believe he's good at his job...Hagel, Highmore, Johnson, and Fortin were all CHL after thoughts that Bowman signed
Suter, Kubalik, Kahun, Panarin, Kampf, Rutta, Kempny, Raanta, Niemi and Lankinen being the European choices
Kalynuk came to us the way we lost Kevin Hayes, great grab by Bowman yet again

In the Hills
Hagel goal, 20th point!
Kalynuk goal, tied for NHL in rookie defenceman goals at 4
Lankinen 3ga in one period of play...yeeesh!
After playing like a third of the games of the others! 4G and 3A for 7 points in 14 games that's a 41 point pace!
Just checked .. Kalynuk is 10th in rookie d scoring with 7 points .. all the others above have 40 plus games .. the only other rookie d with a notable point total is Drysdale with 6 points in 18 games.
That's pretty darn promising!

I believe Kalynuk and Beaudin will still be considered rookies next season as they'll both be under the 25 gp and age rules so that elusive allrookie team defenceman might be in the mix for next season as I believe both will have a full time spot on the back end

solid showing from our rookies all around. It helps getting so much playing time but they all didnt look out of place. Suter Kurashev Kalynuk Beaudin Hagel Lankinen Mitchell. I am not sure we have a top 4D or a top 6 guy out of the bunch but thats okay.

If you look at Lankinen hockey career, he's never really played a lot of games
2014-15...34 games in Liiga and Mestis, 6 in playoffs
2015-16...26 in Liiga, 18 in playoffs
2016-17...42 in Liiga, 14 in playoffs
2017-18...17 in Liiga and Mestis, 14 in playoffs
2018-19...25 in Rockford and Indy, 19 for Finland internationally
2019-20...21 in Rockford
2020-21...so far 36 in Chicago

I just think he's burnt, maybe a rotation with Subban(now Delia) more so than giving him the net most nights would have been better

Scary thing is our goalie coach Jimmy Waite was a high pick, promising goalie who couldn't hack it with dehydration issues when he played in NHL

Absolutely. Hawks have a bunch of guys in a similar situation. I think he will be fine though. That endurance is something you have to build up.
