Part of me wants us to have Tortorella as coach just for the comedic value of getting to watch him shoot down Chambers and the other legends reporting on the Avs.
If Jarmo ends up getting a poor return for Dubois because he rushed a trade, he has only himself and Torts to blame.

Good decision by the Jackets. There’s no need to let the toxic Torts/PLD relationship ruin his trade value.
What kind of a message would it have sent if Dubois had been dealt early just because he doesn't want to be there? Not just regarding the CBJ organization, but to other young RFA's around the league?
The difference is, Duchene didn't quit on the ice.I don't think it would send a message at all. Players request trades all the time and it doesn't impact the team or other RFA's. They're very specific situations.
Only made the Avs better when they got rid of the malcontent in Duchene. Same has been true other times in the past in similar situations.
Yeah but there was no reason for Torts to make it so publicly toxic, except to suit his own ego.
They should have handled it the way the Avs handled Duchene's trade request. Which resulted in an overpayment from a desperate team.

They really could have used him.
