Avangard up 1-0 in the 1st over CSKA in a possible elimination game. Haven't watched, but Slepyshev seems to be in a third line role.

Skelleftea lives to fight another day though, going down for the final game in the series on Thursday.

According the local papers Broberg "played good shifts" prior to having to leave the game injured (face).
Man he is really turning into Klefbom 2.0 with the injuries isn't he jeeze. Such bad luck

Sounds like Broberg is coming to Canada
Excited to see how he does in the AHL next year. He and Samorukov should be a treat. I’d guess by next season Bouchard has a full time spot, and Samo gets a cup of tea throughout the season, and then the following season we’ve got Samo full time and Bromberg getting a few games.

The future of the D core is looking bright, and with Nurse becoming a legit number 1 this year IMO, I think we’ll be good for a while on the back end.

So happy he is coming over. Our Goaltending depth looks great. Skinner has had a stellar season and Konovalev has been great over in the KHL. When have we had good goaltending prospects like this since Dubnyk?

Best part is, they both have good numbers in pro hockey. Not junior

Really hyped for Konny, I think he’s got a good shot at being a starter

If we give credence to the rumors that only one goalie will be returning next year and it isn't Koskinen, does that indicate the team is looking at Smith as the starter and Konovalov/Skinner being the backup? Assumedly with the hope that the roles would switch towards the end of the season. It certainly would be cap-friendly, assuming we could find a new home for Mikko.

Lol sorry but no. Konovalov or Skinner will be nowhere near back up. We're going to sign someone

Glad Konovalov and Broberg are coming over. Should be looking for a starting goalie this summer with Smith or Koskinen as backup and then hopefully one of Skinner or Konovalov has earned back up duties the year after.

Our goaltending depth sucks. Neither of these tenders are nearly ready and may never be.
However we have won the lottery a few times ....u never know with goaltenders.

I'd have to think that we'll be bringing him over to Bakersfield next season? He seems like a very talented prospect.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him play in a better league in Europe like the SHL for one more year before coming over. He clearly knows how to get into position to use that shot of his though, so maybe they do bring him over sooner rather than later if they're comfortable putting him in a scoring role next year in Bako.
