We know Stapley is out for the season, but I don't remember if this was mentioned: he had surgery. I just saw a Tweet from February 25th:



It does suck that he's out as Denver are playing in the NCHC Semifinals today.

but if he goes on IR and Chiarot too. We’ll have enough money to bring in another good player at the deadline.

A player missing 10 nhl games and 24 days or more can go on LTIR but we won't get any salary cap relief at this point if they come back before the playoffs. If Gallagher doesn't come back until the playoffs we don't have to account for his salary when adding a player this season
